Tim, I think we understand totally. I also think 'scary Bigfoot stories' were pretty much all most of us ever wanted. Bigfoot didn't have to be so real back then to imagine it as so. FTR, your honesty, humility and humor has always been appreciated. Have a good one. :)

Bye Tim, I enjoyed running into you again, maybe you'll visit once in awhile. All good things must come to an end. I plan to stay and continue the good work of Parnassus, CWB, and the rest of you who point out the flaws and poke holes in the footer theories. Someone has to remain to stamp out the "footprints" of ignorance.

I stopped posting at the BFF long before the Great Reset, and wouldn't dare post there now. It was never a particularly enlightened place (all one had to do to observe their intellectual blinders was to read any of the discussions about the PGF,) but the current forum makes the old site seem like the Algonquin Round Table.

I do lurk at the new forums, but these days it's to amuse myself at the mental gymnastics people perform to allow themselves to believe that we have a race of Wookies hiding in our woods. It's both illuminating and disturbing.

One appellation I've come to find particularly facepalm-worthy is "Knower." These are individuals who have had their own encounters with the Big Monkey, and thus have no need to challenge their belief in the somehow-cloaked North American Mighty Joe Young. Unfortunately, rather than try to determine what may have caused them to perceive the "animal" they observed, they take it at face value. I can't help but feel that they're wasting a wonderful opportunity to determine the real cause of part of this phenomenon by instead chasing after a mythical hairy monkey in our woods.

Of course, I'm not these people. I didn't see what they saw. I don't doubt that some people have seen things they can't explain. I don't for an instant, however, believe that any of them saw a forest-ninja-ey bipedal primate giant who has a weakness for Zagnut bars and McDonalds pancakes. I think that those people who sincerely don't know what they saw are simply mistaken. It doesn't make them liars; it just makes them human.

In recent weeks, the Melba Ketchum nonsense, the "Daisy in a Box" hoax, and now Mr. Dyer's latest fake body shilling has made for some entertaining reading. Add in the leaked pics of Matilda-bacca, and honestly, Squatching has made for an amusing pass time. It's like watching a community of Charlie Browns rushing at the football that is confirmation, only to have reality in the form of Sally yank it away from them time and again.

That's my take on it, anyway.

Wow - not that I mind 'cause I'm quite busy today, but was TheMelba's crash and burn and parn and RedRat riding off into the sunset all it took to kill bigfoot at the JREF? Fascinating.
 
We keep waiting for something to discuss but the Melba thing was so lame it didn't even make for an interesting dinner conversation.

Sure wish the footers would give is something a little more challenging.

The BF threads died off long before their departure. Think back to all the the folks who used to drive the BF threads: LAL/LU, WGBH, WP, Skep Greg, Drew, RayG, Correa, etc., etc, etc. Their posts are infrequent now. Really not much to discuss. Mulder quit lying for Noll after RayG posted his timeline in the Elbe thread. PGF nothing new there since KK went away with his tail between his legs. Finding BF SSDD. Operation wood ape has to wait until next spring. What's to discuss?
 
It's bigfoot, so there'll be more follies. No from the monkey itself mind you, but its followers. Follower follies as it were.
 
The next big hoax will bring Bigfoot threads back to life, but nothing like the heyday of the PGF threads, with Parcher posting his brilliance consistently.

What happened to Kit? what's he up to these days?
 
I too think that bigfoot will get some kind of uptick in the future but right now he/it seems deflated. Every now and then I take a spin via the internet through some of the pro bigfoot sites to see what's up and lately it's not really very much. Robert Lindsay seems to have used up his 15 minutes and has been reduced to a few fanboy commentors who stroke his ego. I'm hoping that is because he has been consistently wrong in his blog concerning bigfoot and people figured it out.

Long story short...he left the JREF to go troll the BFF. He "accidentally" let it slip he had found the patty suit. He and sidekick Tontar asked people not to discuss it lest it caused the suit caretaker to get nervous. KK, sidekick Tontar, and Bill "Patty is a Real" BF Munns were supposed to go look at the suit. KK, after years of posting about BF, and an obsession with the PGF, gave up on the subject altogether and left the BFF. He reportedly gave up his DJ gig to become a diplomat and double naught spy cracking international crime rings. KK turned over all patty suit info to Munns. KK proclaimed Munns knows the PGF is as phony as a $3 bill despite Munns public pronouncements to the contrary. That's reasonably accurate and the gist I believe.
 
The newest, latest bigfoot drama is coming to us from the always absurd and entertaining Rick Dyer, who claims to have killed a bigfoot in Texas. A former JREF'er, "Musky Allen" is claiming to have flown to Las Vegas, and saw the body, which he pronounced as a real bigfoot. Footers are eating the story up.
 
Mr. Mullis finally met up with Dr. Sykes and says there's exciting news. I have no idea what it is, but apparantely there will be some sort of video posted.
