Another doozy...

July 13, 1996

Deschutes National Forest, Oregon

Hav Trahn had been hiking up a steep slope when he slipped and fell, breaking his leg, a compound fracture with the bone sticking out. He passed out, and when he regained consciousness, there were two huge hair covered creatures hovering over him. The larger one was 7 ½ - 8 ft, a gray white color, eyes black with no whites, large sloping forehead, and peaked head–domed, very big feet. The second creature was about the same height, sandy colored gray with white tuff on top of its head. They were very hairy and he could not see any sex organs. They were jabbering at each other with their small mouths, but using "words" but indistinct noises. He passed out again, and did not reawaken until his wife, Gioking, shook him awake, and said two ape-men had carried him out of the forest and deposited him near her. She said they were horribly ugly and added that they had very long hair except on the face, heads and feet. She then took her husband to a local hospital.

Umm . . . what?
You really, really....really need to slip on over to BFF!
It's kinda like watching a couple of hours of Cops afterwards one feels like
"Wow I've got my crap together"!!
Nothing like watching Norseman defend the NARWACies after they go "oh ya the tree was rotten". I guess they didn't notice it until (months?) of examining the tree?

Fascinating. It doesn't look like he's made much progress on Project Grendel either. Norseman is a bit like Huntster in that he's apparently a seriously outdoorsy guy who claims to have found some footprints in the snow that he can't explain. The problem with these guys (one problem, in Huntster's case), is that the years roll by without them getting any closer to "I guess I was wrong."

I love that he was laying there with a bone sticking out of his leg, barely conscious, and he had time to notice how big their feet where and whether or not they were packing a penis. I also loved how they carried him out of the forest and knew exactly where to leave him, right near his wife!

Norse and Huntster are similar in the origin of their bigfoot interest, but otherwise are polar opposites. Norseman is an atheist, while Huntster is clearly not. They did not get along very well in the Tar Pit last I was there.

Norse was actually one of the folks at BFF that I got along with very well.

 It was years ago for me (at the old BFF), but I never knew for sure if Huntster was just a misunderstood do-right, or if he really was on Lithium. He seemed intelligent at times, but he would inevitably kick himself in the nards regularly because he possessed no ability whatsoever to reconcile anything about anything. So he could never get off a tangent once he'd jumped on it, no matter its validity. To further twist The Shrike's point, to him it's like everything he ever said became worthy of carving in stone, unable to be ever be re-thought or <gasp> rescinded in even the bleakest of times because, well, he'd already carved it in stone and, believe it or not, previously carved stones are always right.

Actually I think it's a case of him being the Grand Poobah of his own little world and thus the notion he could be "mistaken" is genuinely more absurd than the notion a monster Wood Ape™ has existed for a million years right along side of us and we never knew it. "You'd have seen it if you'd have just opened your eyes."

Lithium.

I'm a member of Project Grendel, not alot happening there for sure. Norse I have (or had until he started supporting NAWAC) confidence in and trust.
If you could see some of the tirades Hunster has gone on in the Tar Pit....he's a lunatic and you may very well hear about him on the news one day. I'm pretty far to the right he makes me look like a liberal.
I've never understood how one with any outdoor experience can take an unexplainable experience and create a boogieman.
Well actually I can and did recently but I didn't leave the woods convinced of anything other than I couldn't identify what I heard. It's fun to let your imagination run wild but you've got to stay grounded with the facts.

Let me clarify that my comparison to Huntster was only in that the two of those very outdoorsy guys experienced something they couldn't explain but have failed to settle on the obvious explanation of "it wasn't bigfoot". The comparison ends there. I always found Norseman to be polite, thoughtful, and interested in solving a mystery rather than pushing an agenda. Those would be polar opposite personality traits to the famed Huntster. One's an outdoorsy, nice, smart, and cool guy who thinks he might have found a bigfoot trackway and one's a nutball who thinks likewise.

Huntster is a banned member here. He was a rude Bigfoot believer, but it was his rage in Christianity discussions that primarily caused the banning. Then he used a sockpuppet which I identified right away. Of course that one was banned too. He could still be here with another sock, but it isn't an obvious one if he is posting in Bigfoot threads. I don't read any Christianity-related threads so I can't speak to that possibility.

^^ I'm not surprised to hear that he is banned here. He can be explosively rude if you disagree with him or he perceives you as an enemy--mostly liberals who ignore alleged bigfoot evidence are his primary targets. I had a few PM conversations with him that did not include politics, bigfoot or religion and they were a civil and pleasant experience actually.

He enjoys an odd status at the BFF. He is exiled, for lack of a better word, to the Tar Pit. He may only post in that small, bitter arena. It was that or the banhammer, I guess, at some point in the past.

I think I remember a post by him one time explaining that he can't really do "Bigfoot field research" for health reasons, and I think it was related to obesity.

He can chime in here to correct me. :D

I think it's rage issues keeping him from proper field work. He punches out too many trees.

You talking 'bout Huntster or Rick Noll? :D
