Merged Bigfoot follies

Don't recall about Cotter supporting Toejam. I would have to guess no as I always found Cotter to be pretty reasonable for a bigfoot proponent. He was not a believer in the sense that he had ever had an experience and would never say for certain that bigfoots exist, but was rather a strong supporter of the idea of existence. He and Rockape are a lot alike in their approach to bigfoot imo.

LOL,no, not Cotter. He is actually one of the few who is fairly moderate. I believe you are talking about AaronD. He is an extreme Christian conservative. He takes everything in the Old Testament literally. Very scary.

Yep. He's nuts. His forum avatar is a carving of a dinosaur footprint and a human footprint overlapping, and there is nothing you can do to get through to him that the thing is a fake. Even the name of the faker is well known. See-te-Cah is also religious, and a young earth creationist.

The Tar Pit was a stupid idea, and is ultimately just a place for the extremists to shout at each other. It was plugged as the place where all the secret-squirrel stuff about BF would be discussed openly, but it became a Liberal-bashing hell-hole in days.

HRHuffnPuff was dreadful and domineering openly on the forum, picking on a handful of members constantly, but he was also like that with staff behind the scenes. All of us who left when he threatened a member with blackmail were sick and tired of the bully.

I found See-Teh-Cah to be a pleasant person to deal with actually. I got along with him quite well even though I was usually getting a warning point as part of our dialogue. I had hoped the BFF might have been a place where discussion could occur. But that has really changed. Any sort of skeptical challenge gets shouted down by DWA and his cronies and you are accused of derailing the discussion and only being out to shut down all communication otherwise why would you even be in a "bigfoot house" if you don't believe that bigfoot is even out there, or could be out there.

The Tar Pit was an eye opener for sure. Hardly any bigfoot discussion at all with everything pretty much being a big liberal bash-fest. It was kind of fun for me, as a liberal, to swap obscenities with The Huntster and Ptero and others. But after awhile, that got boring and predictable too.

Absolutely. Couldn't agree more...... But he banned me and all the others who left, and he has let HRHuffnPuff back in. It isn't his manner that I query: it is his judgement.

No doubt it's changed since I first joined. I think the Tar Pit was very revealing to me, I had no idea how many of the mods were religious zealots. I think Cotter was one who believes Bigfeets are fallen angels or some such nonsense.

It's actually not uncommon for bigfoot believers to be conservative Christians. IIRC, there was some survey done a few years ago that showed a pretty large percentage of active bigfoot believers were also fervently religious. And the religious ties to bigfoot are becoming pretty common, too, like Ketchum's efforts to prove "angel DNA." I seem to recall reading that religion is also one of the reasons for Meldrum's interest in bigfoot, as he's a pretty devout Mormon who has been exposed to the idea that they're the descendants of Cain, or something like that.

Wait, so there's another "ptero" out there, and a bleever the bff no less?
I'm probably confusing the hell out of people.

^^ Yeah, but his name is Pteronarcyd and he is a real nasty piece of work. He's sharp as a tack, but has a very caustic wit and no social graces whatsoever. Pretty funny sometimes too though, but comes across as a horrible excuse of a human being.

^Caustic, yes caustic.

So I missed out on barb-trading with Huntster by never sullying myself in that silly Tar Pit thing? More's the pity! Folks will note that bigfoot hasn't been found so my long-standing bet with Huntster (i.e., that I buy him a prime rib dinner) still stands. Somebody better find me a dang sasquatch 'cause I've still never been to Alaska and I've got a mighty hankering for some prime rib.

^ Yeah. That DWA feller also thinks that self publishing at Amazon is equivalent to peer reviewed science.

No holes in his marble bag...nope.

That Night Walker guy that occassionally posts here is challenging him, so the fur is going to fly. At least I hope.

I called him Ptroll, which didn't go down too well with some. :) People like him are why forums have Ignore functions.
