Moderated Bigfoot- Anybody Seen one?

It's probably that "feeling of being watched" which so many Bigfoot eyewitness claimants mention before they see it without ever seeing anything.

I was walking down the wooded path when I suddenly felt as though I was being watched. I stopped and slowly turned around with a feeling of dreaded anticipation. I saw nothing and yet still I began to sweat and my heart was pounding. Just then a sparrow flew from a branch about 20 feet away. It was watching me.

Moments later I had the same eerie feeling. A close examination of a nearby shrub revealed a tiny green grasshopper. It was watching me.

Ants, flies, spiders, all insects, birds, toads, mice and whatnot. Anything with eyes. They were watching me. I had that "feeling of being watched" from the moment I left the house until I went back inside. Then spiders and flies were watching me inside.

There is almost no time or place where a creature with eyes is not watching you. :jaw-dropp

these researchers used locals to help them locate the apes. I don't believe we have 3rd world communities living in the PNW where searchers can use their trackers and guides to navigate the wilderness.

Right. Instead we have official salaried big-game wildlife enumerators who are paid salary for aerial surveys, dung counts, radio collar tracking, and nearly every single square inch is not only mapped, but with every kind of overlay including groundwater, soil, rainfall, etc. etc.

You've tried to make it sound like our "wilderness" is this inaccessable, unknown, mysterious place. Instead they are far better known and monitored than these remote third-world jungles.

Also, in the article, there was mention of a year-long study. To the best of my knowledge, there are no groups out there with any sort of government funding searching for BF.

Every single year the professional wildlife enumerators are out there counting bison, sheep, mule dear, antelope, moose, bears, etc -

And they see no bigfoot. But the Sheep enumerators see moose and the moose enumerators see bears and the elk spotters see sheep, etc.

The reason no state or federal wildlife counts are done for bigfoot is that bigfoot does not exist. Not one wildlife enumerator on the job has ever seen a bigfoot. We are talking thousands of people over close to a century now.

This is one of the supreme stupidities in the bigfoot true believer's logic. They want to reason backwards and say that since there are no bigfoot enumerations being done by state and federal agencies, that's why none have been found.

One argument against the possible existence of bigfoot (not that more are needed) that I've considered is the unlikelihood that a primate could survive in the Northwest without near human level technology.

But I'm not so sure about that argument. What about Japanese macaques? Is there something unique about the Japanese forests that allow them to survive or could they survive without human intervention in the American Northwest? I just looked up their diet on Wikipedia:

It feeds on seeds, roots, buds, fruit, invertebrates, berries, leaves, eggs, fungi, bark, cereals and in rare cases even fish.
The American Northwest has all that stuff so ... .

Maybe the creature in the PGF film was a Japanese macaque wearing a gorilla suit?

Finding food to maintain 30 pounds is much easier than finding enough food to support 600 pounds.

Again the Bili Apes are misrepresented by a Bigfoot believer. This time it's in a blog review of the new Discovery Channel program...

I thought mentioning the recent discovery of the Bili Ape in the jungles of the Democratic Republic of Congo was appropriate. The Bili Ape is a massive chimpanzee-like primate that can stand up to 5 feet tall and weigh 300 lbs. These apes were considered pure myth by most mainstream scientists despite the fact that the indigenous people of the region insisted the mysterious "lion-killing" apes were real. The species was brought to light by primatologist Shelly Williams who first observed them in 2002.

Chimpanzee-like? So, it isn't really a chimpanzee?

Considered pure myth by most mainstream scientists? Don't you mean the part about the lion killing? That did turn out to be a myth after all, didn't it?

You left out the finding of all the Bili Ape skulls over a century. That's not like Bigfoot, is it?

The topic of the 1958 Jerry Crew cast comes up a lot. We know that it was from a Wallace worksite. Skeptics would generally attribute the hoaxed footprints there to Wallace. We have been shown a single cast made by Crew and it doesn't strongly resemble the known Wallace stompers.

But here's the thing... my research shows that Crew actually made multiple casts from that incident of both right and left feet. Why have we only been shown one cast? Could the other casts resemble the Wallace stompers? Were they destroyed? Were they intentionally hidden because they looked fake?

Could somebody please put out feelers in the Bigfooter community to get information about these other 1958 Crew casts?

He expected a storm of derision, instead, a trickle of confirmatory correspondence began to come in from the Willow Creek area. Then, on the second of October (1958), Bigfoot, as the creature was now being called, appeared again on his apparently rather cyclic route, leaving tracks for three nights in succession, and then vanishing for about five days. This time Jerry Crew was prepared with a supply of plaster-of-Paris, and he made a series of casts of both right and left feet. Two days later he took time off to drive to Eureka on personal business and he carried the casts along with him to show a friend. While he was there somebody told Editor Genzoli about him. When Genzoli met Jerry Crew and saw his trophies, he realized he had some real, live news on his hands. He ran a frontpager on it with photographs the next day. Then the balloon went up. The wire services picked it up and almost every paper ion the country printed it, while inquiry flooded in from abroad.

Thanks for the link. I posted a comment there (or tried to... can anyone see it?) trying to set the blogger straight on the erroneous Bili ape comparison. It really is as simple as this:

They're Eastern chimps for which there exists a continuum of physical evidence that started in 1908 with a skull, and led to their observation and classification in the 2000s. The comparison between Bili apes and bigfoot exists only in believers' credulous minds.

These are also Wallace feet, and there are many others, as we all know. Few footers bother to try to get a match.

Umm, you mean communities like, oh, I don't know, the Native American community? It's well known within the bigfoot community that Native Americans know all about the big guy, yet for some reason, they can never lead anyone to him.

Ignoring that little tidbit, do you really think there aren't people living in PNW who know how to navigate the PNW?

One last thing before I get back to work.

One of the popular comeback from BF'ers is that there is a government cover-up. Has this been discussed? If so, I can dig, if not...well....the responses I get is that the US gov doesn't WANT BF to be discovered b/c of the ramifactions not only to the Church, but also to resources - meaning an endangered species habitat would need to be protected, thus restrictions on mining, foresting, drilling, etc would cost a lot of affluent folks a lot of money.

This does make a little sense. That's probably why the government refuses to confirm the existence of the delta smelt.

Dude, you're shoulder deep in the woo, ain't ya? :D

Jerry Crew display at the Willow Creek museum.

A little more info:

Thanks. The display seems to have 2 right feet. Why is one yellow? Are they identical or different tracks? Where are the left feet?

Here's a comparison. I read that the Crew cast has been sanded. You can still see a squarish big toe. Does a living Bigfoot actually have square toes? Do the people who believe in Bluff Creek Bigfoots think that their creature has square toes? Or, does it really have round toes like Patty?

I wonder if Wallace used mismatched pairs at times?

I see what Kitakaze posted. We see "mismatched" feet which can be linked (matched) to wooden stompers in Wallace's collection. But it isn't clear that the hoaxer actually used a grossly mismatched pair (right and left) as opposed to using two sets that were quite different. You follow me?

For example: is this supposed to represent tracks from two different Bigfoots, or a single individual which has wildly different right and left feet?
