Please don't confuse news you don't like with biased news. Just because a news outfit reports something bad about Trump doesn't make it biased against Trump. With Trump it is nearly impossible to report about him without reporting something he lied about.

Every news outlet is biased in some way and yes they've all had their go at fake news and I don't really give a hoot what Trump says about it.

Awww, that's so sweet! Here's a more likely scenario:

Bannon was demoted. He was so upset that he wanted to resign but Money Bags Bekah convinced him to stay. They put their foul arch-fiend conservative heads together and realized Trump had made a mistake and left him with security clearance and thus, technically, the credentials to sit in on NSC meetings. He then, leaking it to the press ahead of time, attended the first NSC briefing he's actually attended in six weeks. (As the White House informed us, he was just watching the shop and with Flynn out they didn't need him at the meetings.)

It was a face saving gesture. He went up against the son-in-law and Ivanka whispered in daddy's ear, "But daddy-waddy, the drunken fart planted stories that you were upset wif me and Jared because we weren't leading the fight to repeal Obamacare. Daddy, that's his job, not mine. I'm supposed to look pretty and sell stuff. You promised!!(batting her eyes) Daddy, make the bad man go away. We don't like him."

FUn, but I think that Donnie was sick of all the "President Bannon" comments and the widespread belief that Bannon was pulling Trump's strings was a major reason.

I think we need a separate thread for Trump Personnel Moves - Disasters and Victories. There are enough already and there are ancillary damages like "Newness" but more important is that I believe that there are many more to come.

Maybe they're firmly on the left from your perspective, but then again pretty much everything would, but from a global perspective they are in the centre or slightly right of centre editorially but that doesn't mean that their news coverage is biased.

Bannon has been walking on thin ice and could very well get booted out of the White House, but if that becomes the case, he can find comfort knowing that I will be sympathetic to his predicament and keep him out of the unemployment line by offering to pay him $5.00 per week to wash my truck and $3.00 to take out the garbage.

Maybe because Bannon's confident that so much is being piled on Kushner's plate that it's only a matter of time before he screws up. At that point Trump will likely throw Kushner under the bus, son-in-law or not, and Bannon and his cronies will be back in favour.

Then again maybe it's because Bannon is just bat-guano crazy.
 
What if it turns out that Kushner is actually a hero? He knows his father in law in nuts, dumb, and easily manipulated and so he inserted himself in an attempt to mitigate the damage or even possibly make something good come out of the Trump presidency?

I suppose it's possible, but the proof of that particular pudding will be in the eating. If we see reasonable policy proposals then that would be strong evidence of a tempering influence. So far however Trump's attacks on the environment, regulation, healthcare and welfare come straight out of the right wing playbook.
