No, he does not. That's not how prison works. The only way to get into solitary confinement with any degree of certainty is to show that you need to be put there. Generally, this is done by being violent in some manner. Do you see where that's going?

It is only entrapment if LEOs persuade a person to commit a crime they would otherwise not be willing to commit. Giving some sicko the chance to bang 14 year old girls does not meet that criteria.

Some have said it is humorous or ironic, I would suggest both with a large portion (let's hope so) of poetic justice. No one wants him to be raped by Bubba, but if it happened ... meh ...

Well, I wouldn't sentence him to be raped in prison, but if a rape happens to him in prison, I won't cry about it.

I don't want him raped. I want him to live the rest of his hopefully brief natural life-span there, and never see outside again.

But would you be upset if he was raped by a big black dude? After all, they both have needs of the flesh don't they?


Side issue:
This was told to me by some indigenous friends in Kakadu NT a few years ago. In times gone by Australia's indigenous had a rather unique way of handling their paedophiles. They would spear them in the achilles/heel area with an ironwood spearhead, then expel them from the tribe. The wood itself carries a poison so some would die painfully a few days later from the wound. If the perpetrator survived they would naturally have a rather nasty limp which served as a warning to other tribes that he was a danger to their children.

Personally I reckon two hours with a randy bunyip would be a good punishment.

Every person that we as a society choose to force in a confined space, needs to be protected from violent assault and other harm in that space.

Prisons need to be safe; when they're not, we've failed an obligation we have as a society.

When we come to accept as a culture that they are not safe, to the point where being illegally assaulted and harmed in prison is seen as part of the punishment, we have lost a fair bit of our moral compass as a society.

If you think this man deserves to be raped, then get it added to his criminal sentence. Until you do that, he deserves the same treatment and protections under the law as everyone else.

I too find the common acceptance of prison rape (and other prison violence) as "if you do not want this, do not break the law" barbaric. It's not even self-servingly rational -- condoning prison rapes and gangs means the worst toughest thugs have a great deal of fun in prison. One result of such attitude is that the most dangerous criminals have LEAST reason to fear jail. How logical is that?
