I'm willing to accept that some guy named Yeshua went around Israel and suggested that people be nice to each other. I'm cool with that. I can get behind that.

I can't get behind what gets done in the name of God and Yeshua and how it's used. It's possible that there is no God.

If there is and I've spent my life trying not to suck and trying to be a good person I doubt I'm going to Hell. Any god that petty and attention needing isn't much of a god at all.

How can you call what you've done "debating"? Debating requires a two-sided exchange that involves offering points, listening to the other party's points, then rebutting each of them with carefully thought-out counter-points. You came in, posted your statement, saw tons of other people's points, addressed not a single one of them, then returned to say that you were debating and not a troll. If you were truly debating, you would have posted answers to some of the other valid points people have made. (Granted, not everyone did, but a lot of people did.)

My own point would be simply to state that I am an atheist. That doesn't mean I hate any gods; it means that I don't believe that any gods exist. I don't (or can't) know that for a fact any more than you or anyone else can know for a fact that any gods exist. But given all of the information that I have seen and learned and come to know in my lifetime, I have seen no reason to believe that there are any supernatural beings controlling anything.

As someone said, why do you insist that we must hate your god rather than just not believing he exists? You don't believe in any of the other gods that other people believe in. Does that mean that you hate those other gods. I assume that your answer would be no, you just don't believe in them at all. Well, now you know our position on your god. Same deal. We don't hate what we don't believe exists.

You are an atheist when it comes to every god but your own. We simply believe in one less god than you do.
