Period.

I am sure there are some people foolish enough to not believe in God but I think the majority of ''atheists'' are just maltheists. Just look at the way people bash God, Jesus, The Bible, The fact of the resurrection that no historian disputes.

May I ask a question to all the so-called ''atheists'' here?

What happened in your life that made you get mad at Him? Did someone die? Did a horrible tradegy happen? Well, it doesn't matter because on Judgement day you will have ZERO excuses for throwing such raw hatred towards Him. It doesn't matter what has happened in your life.

You are an athiest I suspect. At least you are when it comes to vishnu, thor, jubiter, Ra and Ahura Mazda. I ahve seen no reason to belive that people who are athistic when it comes to yahweh are any different.

You do relise you offened every langague purist by your use of that word (one half comes from latin and the other greek).

I am not a maltheist. I do not have any evidence that any god exists. That makes me agnostic. Your god is a"deity is actually a cruel, arrogant, abusive, and untruthful being who is not worthy of worship". Which is why I would never join your church even if I did believe in a god. I've attended a couple of different Christian churches in my lifetime and the god they worship was nothing like yours.

You, 1inC, are an intolerant, lying, anti-semetic racist - what's worse, you don't even realize it. I suspect your religion has had a fair share to do with that. I will have no part of any cult that brainwashes its members into disregarding science and turns them into racists.
 
Ok, lets assume there is a god. Let us assume god is good. Let us also assume there is a devil who's out to mislead us human beings. Which would be more likely, that maybe there's some incorrect information in the bible? Or that god wants us to kill each other? Perhaps people don't have to be maltheists to disagree with fundamentalists, they just have to disagree that the bible is infallible. Of course, that all leads us to the question of who the fundies are really following, doesn't it?

btw, I consider myself to be a sympathetic agnostic leaning towards something like universalism. In otherwords, if god exists, alot of people have a general idea, but the specifics are unknowable. I'm not sure if there's a name for that or not, so maybe I'm an agnodenominiationalisticologist?

JEHOVAH 1 IS A MALICIOUS ALIEN FROM A CORPORATE GALAXY. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHETHER YOU BELIEVE IN HIM. DO YOU THINK HE GOES AWAY IF YOU THINK HE ISN'T THERE? WHY SHOULD HE CARE WHAT YOU BELIEVE? WHAT ARE YOU TO HIM? WHAT YOU SHOULD BE ASKING IS "DO THE GODS BELIEVE IN ME, AND, IF SO, WHERE CAN I HIDE?"

Birth defects, cancer, earthquakes, schizophrenia, poverty, misery, body odors, filth, and baldness.

Maltheism is a belief in god,
Atheism does not accept the god concept,
Therefore, (this is the important part so hold on tight) Atheism is not Maltheism.

Why did you bother to ask a question if you immediate follow the question "well, it doesnt matter"? Oh, well, my question doesnt matter much either because you seem to have a few misconceptions about atheism:

The only people who believe in god and hate him at the same time come in a single breed - angry theists. And in any case, most atheists you will probably meet are extremely level-headed, or at least as much as everyone else.

And please note that there are many atheists who have come to their belief through a review of available evidence. While there may be some people who hate religion, the existence of that kind of minority doesnt represent the group.

And even if you come across an atheist who legitimately hates Christians, I'll be willing to that atheist hates the smug self-righteous attitudes of Christians he comes across, not necessarily Christianity in itself.

Not nessacerliy. There are quite a few polythiestic relgions that have an evil god caracter.
