Ask all firefighting and fire related questions here

As I was trying to get across earlier, it would seem to me that the acid in the emergency lighting systems and the back-up batteries in the OEM and the UPS in various other offices in all of the structures would be a factor. It is certainly in a readily available form.

That seems reasonable to me. My personal guess is that it wouldn't be a huge contributor, but like my proposals of pollutants, it would definitely be bigger than zero. And you're right: It sure as heck would be in a form that could liberate quickly and easily. So sure, I could personally get on board with this. I wish Dr. Greening were still here, though; I wouldn't mind reading what effect he thought those items would have. From reading his paper, I'm pretty sure he'd consider it only a minor contributor at best given the sheer amount of other material, but at the same time, the "mobility" of such a form would be impossible to neglect. At some point, I may go back and reread his paper, then try to come up with a reasonable presumption on how much lighting, batteries, etc. would contribute and see how it compares. Seems like that would be an interesting intellectual exercise for a flabby brain like mine. :D

blah blah blah.

That's some answer.

yes... the datamined quote attributing the "vaporized" word to Dr. A. Notice something important from that datamined quote? there are NO "" around the word vaporized. DR. A didn't say it. The reporter put in that word. And put in the wrong word. try again. You really should take some remedial english classes.

Debunkers are always telling truthers to do their own investigation, When they do they are accused of things like "datamining". How cute.

Notice the difference. the "" mean he actually said it and it is a real quote. Without it, it is just the reporter paraphrasing the conversation. Thank you for demonstrating that he says it buckled while it was attached to the column... which greatly DESTROYS any thermite ideas... unless you can make thermite cut steel beams horizontally or obliquely.

"paraphrasing" lol

Like with your FOIA request... it will never happen. But what is new and different there with a truther taking things out of context and refusing to contact the original sources. Go figure.

"out of context"

Cliche debunking at it's finest

I'm sure you are referring to "quote mining", the Twoofer's favorite tool.

You misquoted and you failed to link to the source of what it is yu are referring to. That's what Twoofers do.

The consensus of opinion seems to be that pumping the water to WTC7 would have been no real problem seeing that it was only about 100 yards away from the river's edge. Yet hour after hour went by with not even an attempt made to do this.

As a commanding fire oficer would you be satisfied with this level of professionalism from your officers and their men ?

When are you going to understand this Bill??? WE DIDN'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT 7WTC. NOT ONE DAMN BIT. People's lives depended on us. Are YOU ok with leaving people trapped and alive in the rubble, burning alive, so we could save a damn building??

If you answer anything other than "Yes Tri, that makes perfect sense" I will know that you are just a heartless bastard who doesn't understand what a firefighter's main goal is.

AHEM........AHEM......Bill???

AHEM!! BILL!! Would you CARE to address this?? Or are you going to tap dance around this like you're in Riverdance???

I'm glad we're getting this one straight. Firefighters, policemen, members of the JREF, we're all members of the conspiracy to murder Americans.

Hey Hilastchildalgebra Profanz, maybe on your suspension you can try to educate yourself. We already know how bad your reading for comprehension is.

Please. Pretty please with a cherry on top provide any type of investigation or REAL research that stands up to more than 10 minutes of googling to show how wrong it is.

HOw many peer reviewed papers which support your bs do you twoofs have? What? Oh ... none. After 9 years, and you can't get one? Really? Damn. (I have three in the last 4 years in three different fields. What is taking you so long?)

Simple research is easy to do. Why can't you even bother to try?

Why is it you are so desperate you keep registering here as different socks? It is absolutely amazing... unless of course you are 15 and on meds... then it makes perfect sense.

blah blah blah. Fully explained in follow up experiments... fail.

i think elmodo can tell ya what sisson found. very little metal was removed with his hypothesis. his hypothesis is like shooting a bb when a 50 cal is needed!! read the article again. he was there just alittle over a week after 911. if you want to say it happened in the rubble, make 15.9 mm of a36 steel "corrode" in 9 days with burning office supplies!!
p.s. the grad student that did the ONLY experiment that i know of either failed out or dropped out. you can read about her experiment at the wpi website.

did he deny ever saying this. i havent seen anywhere that he has. im sure he discussed it with the reporter. here is another first impression of that wtc 7 steel:

"A combination of an uncontrolled fire and the structural damage might have been able to bring the building down, some engineers said. But that would not explain steel members in the debris pile that appear to have been partly evaporated in extraordinarily high temperatures, Dr. Barnett said."

here is what he says about a buckled column:
"One clue is fire damage. Only those members that were subjected to very high temperatures - hot enough to burn away fireproofing and scorch metal – could soften to the buckling point."
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/03/07/terror/main503218.shtml

so do you think the nist was on the right path with the expansion/contraction hypothesis, when it looks as though the fireproofing burned off and then burned away 15.9mm of a36 steel on this particular column. and then it buckled!!

original source? do you know this "engineer"? id be glad to email him about what he saw to call it "right on the money!!!"

For the purposes of supporting Twoofer claims, it's a big "so what?".

This doesn't surprise anyone with any knowledge of chemistry and the nature of the fire in the pile. Senenmut clearly knows no chemistry. He clearly doesn't know anything about combustion temperatures in fires.

Thermite and/or man-made demolition doesn't corrode anything. The corroded steel does nothing to support claims of man-made demolition.

Does Senenmut know the difference between "corrosion" and "vaporization?

He probably doesn't know rapid corrosion/oxidation is FIRE ;)

do you know the difference between "little metal" and 15.9 mm?

The only thing worse than arguing irrelevant, useless minutiae that does nothing to support any theory of "inside job" is being told that you are and that we see right through it and continuing to do it

So, Senemut, if you know you are doing this to screw with us, stop, and if you honestly think that this stuff is evidence of "inside job", then do what we always tell people who just don't get it; stop whining on internet forums and convince somebody who can actually DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Hi Parky. I am waiting for the Captain of the fifth largest fire dept. in the USA to comment. The one that Lashl staked her reputation on, 'member ?

Actually, you're trying to piss off the Captain of the fifth largest fire dept by stating purposely inflammatory messages..intent on getting a flaming reaction...Callling into question the professionalism of the FDNY? What better way to piss off a firefighter.

Don't fall for it, Captain.

'Scuse me, but those folks in Riverdance are actually good at what they do. So your metaphor, although most here understand what you meant, fails. Now if you were to compare Bill's failure to the failure of your metaphor... oh... never mind. :)

Well Mac, it sure looks like there is a lot of interest in hearing an answer to that question I put to the Captain. Me too.
