Are You Ready to Make War on Christmas?

So what are the factions in the war on Christmas? Here could be a few:
...
The jooosssss! (They are behind everything, of course.)

You overestimate our effectiveness on this front. We thought we had a major coup in the War on Christmas about 2000 years ago when we killed Christ, but all that ended up doing was giving them another holiday.

I mean, C'mon, you kill thier messiah and the respond by celebrating it!. They even use the intstrument of death as thier holy symbol! You can't win a war against sick bastards like that!

Factions that are not willing to fight anybody don't count.
But it is precisely the Atheists Who Don't Hate Christmas who are accomplishing the secularization (and thus the metaphorical gutting) of the holiday. It is becoming, or has become, precisely what the puritan bastards* would not have wanted. The whole christian human sacrifice element has been spilled on the abattoir floor with the rest of the offal.

One does not have to actively oppose something in order to fight it. Use its own momentum to push it off its original course!

*I include Fox News in this category.

Well okay then. But they really need to hurt somebody to keep up with the anti-Christ image projected by Fox and others.

ETA: I suppose the appropriate battle cry would be "Happy Holidays!"

Nominated!

O'Really even has people taking part in a poll to say if stores are producing a Holiday atmosphere or not. Fox Noise might just be the last bastion of Christmas.

Even "Merry Christmas!" Every time an atheist says "merry christmas", it dilutes the meaning a bit more. Soon, only homeopaths will claim a connection between this holiday and some ancient myth of a god preparing a human sacrifice.

While they are off foaming at the mouth against their stereotype of the enemy, we will have been invited in warmly, raiding the fridge and drinking their beer. Or eggnog, whatever. Before they know it, nativity scenes will go the way of the naked dancing. Except, less missed.

You mean, you will only be able to display nativity scenes in poorly lit rooms in the seedy parts of town. And people will continue to come back to see them day after day, despite always leaving disappointed and frustrated.

What is it about atheists that makes them such angry people? Do you not like religion because of all the Ceremonial trappings or the spiritual/metaphysical essence behind each one, or what?

Who is angry?

Many of those ceremonial trappings are of pagan origin, making the whole thing just that much funnier.

Well, that and cable.

If that's true then Christian culture is in deeper trouble than anyone could have imagined.

Beyond that, the stores around my house have been working hard to create a holiday atmosphere to the tune of all the typical Christmas trappings and Santa-and-or-religiously-themed decoration since about Halloween.

Are you telling me the cognitive dissonance experienced by most store-goers as they walked down an aisle that was half baby-Jesus and the other half ghoulish celebration of the dead/undead was all for naught?

Bummer.

Oh, interesting to note that Thanksgiving was an end cap this year.

Because we're often told that we're mean and evil people who have no qualms about doing mean and graphic things to your children because we can't be moral without God and we can't be nice people without God. And other nice things too like that we shouldn't be allowed to be members of society that only proper Christians should and so on and so forth....

You mean egg day? Christmas and easter are part of the season of really appreciating chocolate. And not feeling guilty about stuffing your face.

'Tis the season to be jowly / fa-a-a-a-aa-a-a-a-at
Count we not our chocolate calories / fa-a-a-a-aa-a-a-a-at
Don we now our last apparel / fa-a-aa-a-a-aa-a-a-at!
Two straps and a pickle barrel / fa-a-a-a-aaaa-a-a-a-at

:singing1::notes:{dedicated to that handsome mutt a-pantin' 'neath the santa cap, sj} ;)

Church bells. If I played music at that volume on a Sunday morning, I'd probably have my stereo confiscated. But a bunch of loons want to ring bells and wake me up because some bloke got nailed to a tree 2000 years ago? Oh, that's fine. As soon as we get rid of that double standard, I'll be a little less angry. Until then religion can kiss my arse.

They're fighting back! Run away! Runaway!

Merry Christmas Everybody!!
What a clever idea!
Yes, Christmas cards. This is coming early so that you can get ready to include an important address to your list.

Want to have some fun this CHRISTMAS? Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year.

As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, CHRISTIAN card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world..

Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it.

Here's the address, please don't be rude or crude:
ACLU
125 Broad Street
18th Floor
New York , NY 10004

Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 44 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a " Holiday Tree". . . It's always been called a CHRISTMAS TREE!

And pass this on to your email lists. We really want to communicate this message to the ACLU!!!

For those of you who aren't aware of them, the ACLU, (the American Civil Liberties Union) is the one suing the U.S. Government to take God, Christmas or anything Christian away from us. They represent the atheists and others in this war. Help put Christ back in Christmas!

Yes, someone forwarded this to me.
