If Israel is such a thuggish dictatorship, as parky claims in some threads, why does he criticize it so harshly and holds it to "a higher standard", like he does in other threads?

One can hardly criticize Israel both for being a dictatorship and because it's a western-style democracy.

Yeah, I know, I know: when it comes to blaming Israel, logical consistency is out the window.
 
I am not pro-Palestinian or pro-Israel. I guess I'm anti-anti-Israel, though.

Actually, when one looks at the evidence of statements and acts by the different players, including armchair ones like most of us, the differences are not of standards applied, but of levels of hypocrisy.

wrong. Israel wants special treatment and favors, because they claim to be a liberal Western-style democracy, like the USA, Canada, and Britain.

they demand a double-standard. they demand special treatment.

now, don't get me wrong. I am NOT in any way, protesting their special favors and treatment. But I am saying that with that special treatment and favors, comes higher expectations and standards.

this is what Israel wants..right? or do they simply want the special favors and treatment, without the higher expectations.

if that's the case, then they can go to hell.
