I can't help but think her behavior is some teen movie stereotype where a woman tries to earn acceptance in a man's world by acting tougher than the men.

Except replace "man's world" with "conservative world" and "tougher" with "crazier".

Well, I am a conservative woman. It is more respect then idolize though. Those poor girls stolen from their school and held by that Muslim man is sad, not having respect and admiration for a brilliant person who has also sold more than 3 million books so has many fans. You seem to be under the mistaken impression that Boko Haram is one person. It's not. It's a Muslim extremist group that has been officially designated a terrorist group led by a man named Abubakar Shekau, and is known for attacking Christians, moderate Muslims, and various government targets. Their stated goals are the establishment of a pure Islamic state ruled by sharia law and the halting of so-called "Westernization".

Ann Coulter took a tragic incident involving the kidnapping of over two hundred helpless girls and tried to politicize it according to her warped vision of the world, and it backfired on her spectacularly. As far as I'm concerned anyone who downplays the severity of this situation by trying to make it about politics deserves whatever they get. I didn't much like Coulter before this, but this incident has cemented my opinion of her as a troll. Those girls are helpless, terrified, have been forced to do God knows what in order to just survive, and Coulter thinks it's okay to downplay that? No, just... no. Ann Coulter is a horrible excuse for a human being, and that's just a fact at this point.

And very good at it. She is a carefully crafted parody of herself. If it wasn't for the loathsome, diseased worldview she promotes one would almost have to respect her dedication to her persona.

This elicited different reactions from our allies, but I doubt very much that laughter was among them.

The terrorists probably got a few giggles (and the occasional guffaw) out of it, though. It was like a free recruiting campaign for them.
