Ann Coulter has no clue

What is Selective Service for? That's right, I remember. It's for the draft.

You are still confused. It is a registration should there be another draft. The fact that those who have registered for selective service have not been drafted should have been the tipoff that there isn't any draft. Difficult to make it any clearer than that.

And who are these folks who in your estimation argue these points well?

Coulter did not confuse the draft with registering for Selective Service. You did.

"Adopted in 1971 at the tail end of the Worst Generation's anti-war protests, the argument for allowing children to vote was that 18-year-olds could drink and be conscripted into the military, so they ought to be allowed to vote."

18 year olds are still old enough to be conscripted into the military, regardless of whether the draft is active.

Coulter seemed to realize that and switched it to just not having an active draft, but that doesn't negate what her point in bringing it up was.

Is it true that Skanky Ann was a guy who had a sex change operation?

Did you know that a sex change operation from man to woman is only about half the cost of the sex change operation from woman to man?

Did you know that the sex change operation from woman to man is called an addadictomy?

Some have suggested from a horse to a woman. Except for my knowledge of the current state of the art in that field, I might have believed it.:jaw-dropp:jaw-dropp:D

All I can say is ...

How's that hopey changey thing workin out for ya? ;)

I must agree with you on this one. You were wrong about what constitutes owning a house v. owning it "free and clear," but registering for a potential draft does not mean there is one.

That said, it seems fair to me that if one argues for an 18-year-old voting age because 18-year-olds can get drafted, it is a logical extension to say that an 18-year-old who is required to register for a potential draft should also be allowed to vote.

What's not to like?

The contraction of enfranchisement. I am against removing the vote from retirees, those between 18-20, and those who make their money through capital gains, those who are unemployed temporarily or not, and so on.

None of those things necessarily stop one from paying income tax; 18-20 yr olds can join the military if they feel their need to vote outways their need to party as they ignore reality.

Cheer up; ain't gonna happen. Next big push will be for illegal aliens to vote.

there are a lot of 18 to 20 year olds that are studying, learning to be mechanics, plumbers, doctors, and nurses etc. too.
are they useless in your world too?
what give you the right to judge who gets a say and who does not?

I feel I can speak for all US citizens by noting dumb Canucks (and even smart ones) don't, anyway .... Eh?

Well, you do not speak for a lot of disabled working class retired soldiers who helped build what the useless class has eaten up with their Wall Street Ponzi schemes.

(BTW, my family has been in this country for a long time. My first ancestors to arrive here came this way to hunt elephants with sharp pointy sticks.)
