Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested...

I suppose his command of the HMS Cottesmore was a lie, then.

All in all, it looks like he had a very satisfactory career in a highly professional trade, picking up several respectable professional qualifications along the way.

@Carrot Flower King, can we put to bed the canard that Andrew never did anything useful?

We'll have to agree to disagree that playing at sailor is useful.

Assuming that it is useful, got anything else?

I think Andrew needs to take some time out where he won't be recognised and have a good long think about his life. Because he's so recognisable it really needs to be somewhere with absolutely no people and nothing to distract him. Is 'Melania' still showing anywhere around Sandringham?

I must make a full apology for having triggered a de-rail into discussion of naval vessels and suchlike, thus detracting from the topic, which is that the Andrew formerly known as prince is a scumbag who has been pulled by the police over dodgy dealings, which are unfortunately not the dodgy (to put it mildly) dealings we would all, I presume, like to see him pulled for.

Anyway, they've let him out. For now...

If he is charged, which I think is likely from the evidence that is known publicly, sub judice will apply in the UK. That is going to be very difficult to enforce.

After the arrest of Andrew, it is becoming harder to see how King Charles and Starmer keep their jobs. I'm in no doubt, this whole constitutional crisis has been caused by Meghan Markle and that dimwit Harry. They're to blame for the whole strate of affairs along with Starmer. The King should've stood firm and defended Andrew just as his late mother did.

It could be the first of many arrests that lead to the first of many trials. And it finally exposes the corrupt British deep state which has engaged in a Watergate-level cover up.

Maybe apologize for making up lies, instead of just sticking with the truth.

That would still depend on whether you consider his time in the navy useful, which is debatable.

Being a helicopter pilot is now a professional qualification? That a new one.

A technical qualification, but professional? I mean, I barely accept my nursing qualification as professional - technical and all that, but I'm not sure about professional, as I did the old apprenticeship model of training.

Anyway, aside from these areas, which I regard as debatable, he did what?

So in the first paragraph he's saying Andrew should have been protected, so it's a bad thing. In the second he's claiming it will expose deep seated criminal corruption in 'deep' state. Surely exposing corruption is a good thing? Or did Dan think he might get an invite to the party?

I view any active service in any country's military to be equally useful. Have you ever served? If so was that time useful to your country?

Is piloting a commercial plane also a mere technical qualification? Search and rescue helicopter pilot? Medivac? You are looking almost Trump-like in your weird attempts to disparage his accomplishments. There is sufficient to disparage about the dude's actual crimes and activities without making stuff up.

No doubt you can point us to someone, anyone, here doing that?
The "but ackshually" has been happening for a while, scroll up. I'm suggesting that if it keeps going it's going to morph into hymns of praise.

Getting a lot of "but you can't overlook his contributions to pop music" with Michael Jackson vibes here.

I can almost smell the crack fuelling that statement.

So far this thread is notably lacking in any sort of praise for the prick. You see that changing, I do not.

In my view, more along the lines of "if you disparage his military accomplishments as not useful you are equally disparaging all military personnel with similar accomplishments as not useful". I don't care to see upstanding and accomplished military personnel disparaged in this manner.
