American dictatorship/autocracy - what will it look like?

Thing is MAGA is itself is very divided; you have a major split between the Libertarian wing and the Religious wing for one.
And what happens when Trump kicks the bucket> I can't see anybody rising to taske his place; that is the thing about personality cults, once the personlaty is gone they fall apart.
Trump is not just a personality cult (anymore). Trump is an idea.
When Trump is gone, someone else will step into his shoes. Probably someone less stupid, a lot younger and likely even more dangerous than him.

But the idea of Trump is only appealing when it comes with the moolah from fundraising from dupes who can't afford it.
And I don't think anyone else can duplicate that.

Trump hasn't been able to kill off anyone who shows them to be competant enough to be a threat to him. The very guardrails they loo kto dismantle are keeping a bunch of them alive.

The one named as a client of Epstein? The one who already presided over a disasterous presidency during which is incompetance and malice led directly to hundreds of throusands of preventable deaths?

When dictatorship and autocracy come to America, it will come in the guise of anti-dictatorship and anti-autocracy.

When? Edgy much?

Whatever areas controlled by the trumpkins over time would be turned into A Handmaid's Tale, I suspect.

So what is your solution except to assume the postion and take it?
Amyway some of your ideas, like everybody being forced to carry, are just plain silly.
In the end, if a majority of the public does not like a law and will not obey it, it is hard to enforce. I give your prohibition.

I have no solution. The cat is out of the bag. You can't unthink ideas.
There is a reason why public figures, especially politicians and highly influential people should be careful with their actions, even with their expressed ideas and thoughts.
But Trump embraced his openly brazen stupidity, idiotic thoughts, plain visible lies and normalized this kind of behaviour for public figures, politicians and even as a head of state. It won't go away, just because Trump will be gone (some day soon).

.
Which I think is true, but wouldn't rule out anymore sometime later in a Trump regime.

I would not be os quick to write off the Untied States.

Untied? Well, it's getting closer to being the Untethered States. Yet another bullet in a national tradition has contacted Presidential flesh . Not long after an insurrection attempt, replete with gallows. In between these events the American Mein Kampf was released.

The world appreciates the looming potentialities more clearly than do too many smug, overconfident, somnolent Yanks who will crow, "It can't happen here!" until it does.

I would look for some presidency prior to 1932 as a potential future. So much will depend on what Congress is elected. A republican controlled House and Senate would mean the advancement of Project 2025.

When the USA turns into a dictatorship/autocracy, what do you think will it look like?
Unelected judges appointed by men who didn’t win the popular vote stripping bodily autonomy from women with the help of heavily gerrymandered state legislatures.

It'll look like Russia's "democracy." Putin is helping Trump and will also advise Trump on how to keep power.

It'll be a great place if you're a white, cis, hetero, christian male.

The rest will develop a form of Stockholm Syndrome. I live in a relatively conservative town and I can't tell you how many minorities and women I see on a daily basis proudly displaying their allegiance to MAGA...

...with the help of heavily gerrymandered state legislatures.

Here's a ray of hope, then. Last week, the Utah Supreme Court unanimously ruled that a citizen ballot initiative forbidding partisan gerrymandering that passed a couple of years ago cannot be repealed by the legislature. This is a court appointed entirely by Republican governors and confirmed by a Republican supermajority state senate. The state GOP are losing their minds and vowing revenge.

It's always hilarious when they say, "If you don't like gerrymandered districts, you should vote out the people who drew them." It's like they don't even listen to themselves.
