That's a misrepresentation, albeit one popular with homeopths themselves as it 'sounds sort of sensible' the actual claim of homeopathy is that "superficially similar symptoms reported in an uncontrolled & anecdotal survey cures like". Ironically given that cranks like to accuse real medicine of only suppressing symptoms & claim their particular brand of woo is holistic, homeopathy is all about symptoms, the fact that a symptom might be provoked by a substance in 'proving' for entirely different reasons than why it appears in an illness or condition is ignored. Things have moved on a little since Hahnemann made it all up in the 1790's, that might have an acceptable assumption then, it is not now.
There are plenty of people on here who do know how homeopathy is claimed to work, because they've bothered to research it.
