A sincere question for any theist...

Since you're here any chance we can discuss this bet we have going. I wanted to go over some details with you, but haven't been able to get in touch with you since I accepted it.

I've been thinking that it's a little unfair for me to be taking all the risk. I'm putting my $10,000 dollars in jepordy, but you have nothing at risk. I think that if you for some reason should lose, that you should post an apology to the athiests on this board

I feel that since you are certain about the prophecy, that you have nothing to lose by agreeing. It would just be a show of fair play.

We can forget this, ok? I do not think God wants money involved. I thought it was a good idea at first but have realized it's just gambling and I must put it to a stop now. If you would like to give money to a charity when my prophecy is revealed to be true, great but I am not going to make you keep your word or do any sort of gambling.

Let's just all sit back and watch the Glory of God when the prophecy comes true.

Well, clearly if the prophecy is wrong you are crazy. I'm not insulting you here; I'm using your words. If you are insane then by definition your judgement is impaired. If your judgement is impaired it's a little presumptuous to go around telling other people what they should do. You must admit you have been fairly high and mighty in your posting on this site. So if the prophecy fails it's clear that some of your experiences that have led up to your firm belief has been a hallucination. This is not the same as saying your beliefs are wrong. Just that you were wrong about certain aspects of your belief.

So I think you should apologize for assuming that you are more enlightened than us mere atheists. Of course, if the prophecy comes true you're beliefs will be supported. I'll even give you an apology

You realize this sounds allot like you are backing out on our deal.
Don't you have the faith that God will come through for you?
You're not afraid that you'll have to apologize are you?

NO I DO NOT THINK GOD WANTS MONEY INVOLVED AND I DO NOT THINK I NEED TO APOLOGIZE FOR ANYTHING.

It's not gambling if it's a sure thing
You used to feel this was a sure thing
It seems now that you aren't so sure of yourself

Plus I'd happily pay $10,000 for evidence of God.
I'd give it gladly

I guess that's a loophole. I'll offer you this: I will leave the forum and never bother the atheists here again.

Ok, I'll take that

though in all honesty I kinda like having you here.
Others may not, but I do
I'd just like to see you admit when you're wrong once.
ofcourse we'll see if you're wrong

To make it fair, I'll do the same if I lose
but not before posting a pic of me giving the money to a homeless person

I won't be wrong be cause His prophecy will come true. YOU WILL ALL WITNESS HIS GLORY AND HOPEFULLY COME TO CHRIST AND HAVE YOUR ETERNAL SOULS SAVED FOREVER!

If it happens I'll even come to your church :D

Then you can post articles about a real hard nosed skeptic being converted

YES WHEN THE PROPHECY COMES TRUE IT WILL SAVE MANY SOULS IN THE SKEPTICAL COMMUNITY. THE NEWS OF THE PROPHECY WILL SPREAD LIKE A WILD FIRE THROUGH THE HEARTS OF UNBELIEVERS! IT WILL BE GLORIOUS!

No, too easy.

If you're wrong, that means that you're a false prophet. That means that the only punishment appropriate for you would be for you to get:

Top Bottom
