A new investigation for 9/11. Why?

Edit: My bad. It was another forum that said 67,000. I retract my statement.

But, its still only .65%

Ok, wait, earlier it was 67,000. So which is it????

Even 52,000 is ONLY .65% of NEW YORK CITY wants a NEW investigation. Sad really!!

PS, My math was completely wrong yesterday.

Slow down.. take a deep breath. Where did I say anything other than 52,000 signatures?

My question to you is this.

If there are 8 MILLION peple in NYC, why caan you ONLY get 52,000 people. That is
.65% of the total population. Like I said, I could get 52,000 people to sign a petition saying the Yankees are Satan himself, and would kill their mother to prove it.

Why is your group having such a hard time getting the signatures you need??

LESS THAN ONE PRECENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because that's what is required to get on the ballot? Then, everyone can vote on it.

So, do you really think that its going to pass, when you are having trouble even getting enought signatures to GET it on the ballot, let ALONE have it pass??

I think you people need a lesson in "Futility", because it really is.

But hey, good luck anyway.

Well, collecting signatures isn't easy work. I've done it before, and it's a grueling process.
"Only" 52,000 is still A LOT of signatures.

I don't think it's an accurate yardstick of the success of the 9/11 conspiracies, either. Now, if you could show the petition to all 8 million people, and only .65% had signed it, then yeah, you could say it was a failure.
But then, you wouldn't need to vote on it, would you?

Are we talking about the same twoofers here? Most of the twoofers I know intentionally lie and deceive people to get their twisted point across. Its not about the real truth for them or being right or wrong. It is about perpetuating a fantasy. They don't give a damn about anyone that died on 9/11. If they did, they would not be at the ground zero memorial spewing filth. That is a place where thousands of people died and a place to remember those that lost their lives. They use it to piss on graves. So to say that they are more interested in activism is pretty false in my opinion.

I take truthers at their word. If they say that's what they believe, then that's what they believe. I don't think they're being intentionally deceptive. They're deceiving themselves as much as they're deceiving others.

It's not real activism, it's a twisted kind of activism. However, in its early stages, 9/11 Truth and We Are Change were able to motivate people in an enviable way. You just don't see social movements able to energize large numbers of young people to engage in such aggressive campaigning. You just don't see people copying Noam Chomsky DVDs and handing them out on a streetcorner, yet with Alex Jones, you do. I think there's something that can be learned from that.

However, the initial burst of enthusiasm died off pretty quickly, and here's why:
1) 9/11 Truth was a fad. It didn't have any staying power, because it didn't speak to real concerns of real people. 9/11 happened 8 years ago. It just doesn't affect anyone anymore.
2) Young people are the hardest group to galvanize long-term, because they're always moving on to the Next Big Thing. Some of these people were steered into the Ron Paul campaign. Where are they now? TEA Parties?

very astute assessment.

If they can raise 10 million a year through the petition they can also do it now. They haven't. Please stop entertaining the delusions of the mentally incompetent.

My policy on twoofers is in my sig. I have not had much interaction with deep44(that I recall) so I am giving him a chance. Not to mention when I start a thread I generally try and respond to anyone who posts in it, regardless of psychotic level.

52,000 people at LEAST pass through Grand Central Station EVERY DAY. Why not stand there??? But, I get your point. It is hard to get someone to sign their name to something. Especially if they don't believe it, nor want it.

I would suggest actually reading the petition, instead of speculating based on what I've said previously.

This question is always asked and always ignored.

If you use real scientists and engineers for your new investigation, you will replicate the results of the original one. If you use theologians and talk-radio blowhards, you will get your desired verdict, but sane people will still laugh at you. Given that you can NEVER hope to con real physicists, demolition experts, and engineers, what exactly is your goal?

I can tell you how they got it.

Signature by appeal to emotion - sympathy.

Guy stands on a side corner and says,

"would you sign this petition to help the family members of 9/11 victims get the answers they so desperately want."

Doesn't it make you wonder why all of the insane idiots in the movement haven't simply formed their own "commission" and investigated for themselves. I mean with so much of the evidence publicly available, and as some of them have said, the evidence so overwhelming, a new investigation should be a piece of cake.

Makes you wonder just how apathetic as a movement they are...unless money is to be made.

What will that 10 million dollars per year be used for? Some kind of breakdown by percentage would be nice to see.

Thirdly, For those paranoids who think Bush is hiding either (A) orchestration of, or (B) purposely allowing the attacks, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK HE WILL TELL THE TRUTH UNDER OATH???

They'll double-dog dare him to tell the truth. No one can back down from a challenge like that. It's foolproof.

What will that 10 million dollars per year be used for?

Bigger cardboard boxes.

i beg to differ on the highlighted part

i couldnt agree more the rest of the post

i understand you mean the movement not 911 itself
the real problem is the truthers rode the coattails of the families questions
and then added their own
now theyre kinda out there by themselves
this petition is a new hope for them to muddy those waters again

to be fair a truly unbiased investigation would have to look into the explosives claims as the NIST said they did
and like the NIST itll be dealt with swiftly as there is no real evidence of that scenario

Your safe responding to me. My psychotic level is around 4.7.

Personally I wouldn't mind a new investigation just to shut them up. However, some people like Alex Jones and James Fetzer will never be convinced. If every governemnt in the world was to set up their own investigation and every one of them came to the same conclusion they still woudln't believe it. There are die hard moon landing and holocaust deniers as well as JFK assassination theorists that will never be convinced period. No matter what. Its just the way it is.

Well I am Canadian, so it's you money America, spend it as you will.

That said, if I was American I would be a little pissed to have millions of my dollars spent on a second go at what was an incredibly thorough investigation, simply because some washed up proffs, liberal old dudes, and young angry men wanted it.
