Merged 5.9 Quake Hits Virginia

[Brown]

Looked for the return of Jesus. Didn't see him.

How long before some semi-prominent lame-brain says that God was sending Washington a message?

What message could that be, if (a) God missed Washington (oops!) and (b) the only confirmed quake damage so far is to the National Cathedral?

According to news services, Pat Robertson has indicated that the earthquake could mean that "we’re closer to the coming of the Lord." Robertson said:

I don't want to get weird on this, so please take it for what it's worth, but it seems to me the Washington Monument is a symbol of America's power. It has been the symbol of our great nation, we look at that monument and we say this is one nation under God. Now there's a crack in it.

Is that a sign from the Lord? Is that something that has significance, or is it just the result of an earthquake?

Following Pat's advice, I take his words EXACTLY for what they are worth.

Oh Jeez! Earth scratches an itch and Pat Robertson has an orgasm. Wait until Gaia cuts a fart. (Volcano)

Dude, that was Gaia-- don't try to blame it on me.

I've seen an EQ safety poster, but I haven't found the image online, of an intact school desk with a space under it sandwiched between the huge cement ceiling slab and floor that pancaked down in a large building that collapsed in Mexico City. It's a unforgettable picture.

In addition to the two I posted in the other thread, there is this one. The wall is taking up some of the weight, but anyone taking shelter next to the desk would have had that chunk of concrete land on them.
