Her career was probably over anyway. I did find out a bit more about what set her off. The buffoonish Cenk Uygur apparently released an independent ad that was widely seen as anti-Semitic (imho it's just stupid, no surprise) which El-Sayed refused to denounce. Then El-Sayed released an ad touting his support from conservatives, including the odious Tucker Carlson. I get the whole "enemy of my enemy" bit but the optics are still bad on that one.

Ok, conspiracy theory here.... but, what if this was a plan by Stevens and Sayed to help get him elected.

Ok, here's my reasoning... She recognizes (before the endorsement) that her political career is probably over anyways. After all, she gave up her house seat and lost the senate race. She can't run again for federal office for another 2 years, and when she does she won't be an incumbent.

But, she really doesn't want the republican to win.

So she endorses Mike Rogers anyways, not because she actually wants him to win, but because she is sacrificing herself by becoming a target for Democratic Angst. Dems rally around El Sayed after the "betrayal" and his support increases.

Or maybe she's just an opportunistic nutbag.
 
They're already setting up the scene to not seat Peltola if she wins. If it comes down to a one-seat Dem majority with her it's a given.

I'm not quite dark enough to wish for asphyxia, but I would pay money to watch that thing fog up more and more as he bloviates and rambles (along with other forms of outgassing he probably does a lot), and see how long it takes for him to notice.
