From what I've heard, it will either be clear right away, or we'll need to wait for a few days. And neither bodes well or poorly for either party.

What's the timescale for the results coming in? Will it be clear which way it's going during the night, or is it going to be a case of results trickling in all day Wednesday?
Some states allow the counting of mail-in ballots that were received over a week past election day (as long as postmarked on or before Nov 3.) Alaska is one of those states... and its a very tight election race, at a time when control of the senate is very tenuous.

So worst case scenario, you may not know who "won" the election and who controls the senate until mid-November.

I heard a pundit proclaim it's gonna be a blue bomb cyclone.

I hope that doesn't come back to haunt . . .

Mrs. Shemp and I voted about noontime. I've never seen such a long line, it went outside the school and about 150 feet. But they did a great job of keeping the line moving. This would have been much easier if New Hampshire had no-reason-needed mail voting, and/or early in-person voting. But our Republican legislators have blocked every attempt.

I extended my record streak of 50 years never voting for a single Republican. Just voted for all the Dem candidates and "yes" for the two ballot questions. On the way out, chatted a bit with the Democrats outside campaigning, thanked them for being here and vice versa. Ignored the Republicans. And we both got "I VOTED" stickers!

I voted around 9:30, after the going-to-work crowd was done. It was busy but no lines. I was karmically rewarded for doing my civic duty by getting to see, on the walk there and again on the walk back, a very muscular dwarf doing street construction work. It's a bit chilly but he was sleeveless to show off his arms and it really worked on him, let me tell you. His delts were about the size of my quads! They didn't even need that machinery, I'm pretty sure he could just tear right through the asphalt at will. In conclusion it is the patriotic duty of all citizens to vote.

If you're interested, I know a few places on the internet where you can find this guy rather more scantily clad, maybe even doing things with a pole. A friend told me about this of course, I haven't seen this.
