He sounds like those kids I remember running for Class President, promising pizza and ice cream every day, abolishing homework, and filling the school gym with concrete (something recalled specifically from my childhood).
 
Trump's claims that Aurora, CO is being overrun by Venezuelan gang members is, shockingly, a lie.
Assertions that a Venezuelan gang has taken over apartment complexes, scared away police officers and overrun parts of the city have gone so viral among some conservatives this election season that Donald Trump cited them in the Sept. 10 presidential debate and continues to embellish them on the campaign trail.

“In Aurora, Colorado, entire apartment complexes are being taken over by armed Venezuelan gangs with weapons the likes of which even the military doesn’t see,” Trump said at a rally in Wisconsin earlier this month. “They’re terrorizing residents and they’re just menacing the whole state. …And they’re vicious, violent people.”

That false narrative was perpetuated largely by Aurora Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky and, to a lesser extent, Mayor Mike Coffman, both right-wing Republicans, since early August. Both suggested in several local and national news appearances and on social media that members of the gang were terrorizing apartment complexes and whole swaths of the city.

However, Mayor Coffman has distanced himself from his earlier falsehoods:

Coffman has since distanced himself from those assertions, now saying TdA does not pose a significant threat in Aurora. Jurinksy, in the meantime, has leaned into the claims and continues fueling fears about Venezuelan immigrants — a key campaign talking point for Trump’s presidential bid and other far-right political campaigns this election season.

“Former President Trump’s visit to Aurora is an opportunity to show him and the nation that Aurora is a considerably safe city – not a city overrun by Venezuelan gangs,” Coffman said in a statement Wednesday.

“The reality is that the concerns about Venezuelan gang activity have been grossly exaggerated. The incidents were limited to several apartment complexes in this city of more than 400,000 residents.”

But the lies don't stop there. A video that right wing sites claim shows armed members of the Venezuelan gang "Tren de Aragua, breaking into an apartment in Aurora turns out to be misleading.

On Friday, the Aurora Police Department said it has no evidence that the people seen in that video are involved with any gang and specifically noted that the agency cannot link the individuals to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.

“At this time, we do not have any information that leads us to believe or points to these individuals being involved in any specific gang. As we continue our investigation, if that information comes out, we will explore those leads as we do,” Aurora Police Lt. DJ Tisdale from the Special Operations Division said during the Friday press conference.

It's not the only mispresented or fake video about a Venenzuelan gang in Aurora being circulated by the right-wing, either:

I an a cynic and expect every politican to lie; it is all abut the nature and extent of the lying.
As someone said, Trump makes Baron Muchaunsen look like a amateur.
And he is not even a smart liar. His lies are so easily exposed.
I suspect most people who vote for him know he is lying about a lot, but vote for him out of pure tribal political party loyalty, or are under the impression that somehow the GOP can "control " him.
