I think you're wildly exaggerating the number of people who would take up arms for politics. The Proud Boys, Sovereign Citizens, et al make up a minuscule proportion of Americans. How many turned up for Jan 6th? A very small rabble.

There is no evidence he is having an affair with Laura Loomer. It's not as if he has a history of repeatedly cheating on all his wives........oh, wait....

My favorite takeaway from Jan. 6 is that the entire operation to take over the capitol ended with a single gunshot. After that one insurgent was killed, they all started quietly heading for the exits.

I don't think they have the stomach for a round of widespread political violence, much less a civl war.

They are mostly cowards at heart.

"We're going to start with Springfield," Trump said on Friday, adding the town had been "destroyed" by immigration. He mentioned a second city in Colorado, which right-wing commentators have falsely claimed is in the hands of a Venezuelan gang.

Springfield officials say that the debunked claim of pet-eating has sent shockwaves through its community, and has led to violent threats that have shut schools.

President Joe Biden appealed for calm on Friday, calling criticism of Haitians in Springfield "simply wrong".

"This has to stop, what he’s doing. It has to stop," Mr Biden said of Trump's statements.

I don't doubt actual goose is easy to catch, especially if you don't want to hurt it. I don't doubt it's doable, especially if you want it for a dinner.

Again, I see weird media mania. Trump claims people eating cats and dogs, actual pets, are an important issue. On the other hand, others claim it never ever happened, that it will never happen, that it's impossible to happen.
Of course there are people who eat animals they catch on the street. Of course it's not a big problem.

Sigh. So Covid was just rumors and fake news, but immigrants eating pets is totes plausible. Jesus Christ. How do these people manage to survive to voting age at all? With intelligence that low I'd expect them to drown in the shower by looking upward, or choke on a candy bar because they didn't know to remove the wrapper.

that's true, for now. being as how she's not working for the campaign, i can only speculate as to why he's got some free spirited chick half his age hanging on him while his wife hasn't been seen with him in months.

and i love to speculate.

You have to understand how much of this isn't what you, I, or any sane person would call "what they think." They think it, but they don't think it the same way you or I think things.

Me, you, normal people. What we think is just what we think. Right or wrong we have a coherent view of the universe that stays more or less consistent all the time. If we think something, again right or wrong, it means we have to live our lives as if it is true more or less all the time.

This is different. It's a weird kind of very shifting in and out of reality kind of "I'll think this when it's convenient for me to think this, not think it when not, and suffer exactly not clashing of the mental gears." thinking.

Author Jason Pargin described his family growing up. They would go to church everyday and sit there for 2-3 hours being told by the preacher that any day now the evil Leftist would round them up, make believing in God illegal, put them in camps and they would sit there and listen with believe every word of it and then church would end and they would completely turn it off, the didn't go home and get ready for the upcoming evil Leftist revolution that they just were told AND BELIEVED was going to happen at any moment, the went to Old Country Buffet for brunch and then went home to watch the Bears game on TV and that would be it until next Sunday when they would go to church and BELIEVE THE EXACT SAME THING AGAIN.

You have to understand that for a lot of people "thoughts" aren't something that form a singular world view where everything you consider a "fact" has to be factored into everything. For them "thoughts" are just a collection of tools you pull out when you want to think something. Immigrants eat cats is a fact in their head when whatever they want to believe immigrants eat cats and it will go away when they don't want to believe in way I honestly don't think you or I can really comprehend.

"Facts" as a base concept just don't mean the same thing to them that they do to us.
