I hate that it's come to this but I'm surprised in this day and age any politicians of even medium notability or notoriety does anything "out in the open" with clear sightlines to non-secured areas.

A lot of even the well intentioned media that isn't TRYING to be propaganda for the right has fallen into the "Fair and Balanced" trap confusing popularity for factualness.

And, like a lot of facets of society, the media has let the right bully them into be scared of seen as fact checking because idiots can't (or won't) tell the difference between that and censorship, the single main cause of us living in a post-fact world.

As someone once said "Media. If 50% of people say it is sunny and 50% of people say it is raining it is NOT your job to 'report on the controversy.' It's your job to OPEN A WINDOW AND ******* CHECK."
 
Trump is now babbling badly. No complete sentences. he did speak better in English at the debate with Biden. Viewers seemed not to note that he pivoted and lied to every question. It was hidden from a good part of the TV audience, as they tried to comprehend Biden speaking in a weak voice.

But now the decline is clear.
 
I got a flyer in the mail today from a local Republican Assemblyman describing his "inflation relief plan".

1. Cut sales tax.
2. Cut property tax on farms.
3. Cut taxes on local manufacturers.
4. Use existing state money to pay off debts small businesses owe ... to the state.

It's the last one that gets me. Use your own money to pay off what someone else owes you. I guess "write off the debts" might sound too much like student loan forgiveness.

Did you come anywhere close?

I teach undergraduates, and I would say this this is typical for the answer I get on an exam when the student doesn't know the answer but just tries to BS their way through it. But I can't say that, because this doesn't look anything like that. This is someone who doesn't even know what the question is asking and so is answering something unrelated.

I’m betting he has, or has buddies with large outstanding business loans to the state. The small businesses that got loans with banks because they didn’t know people in the state government can pound sand.

Weird.

I wonder if his close call with death may have tipped him right over the edge mentally.
 
More and more I am convinced that if Trump wins,within a couple of years it will be "President Vance".........
 
She should probably not do it herself, but other Democratic politicans should now throw the whole "he is not mentally fit to be president" line back in Trump's face.

That's part of it now, but Trump's obsession with having a bigger crowd than anyone else goes back to his 2016 inauguration when he had no 'rigged election' motive. He lied about its size then, too.

ETA: That Trump is actually holding a rally in MONTANA, a ruby red state he won by 18 points and will certainly vote for him again, is further evidence that his rallies are primarily to feed his narcissism.

I didn't even have to look at the answer. He was talking about mifepristone.

It reminds me of a case I learned about in psychology class back in high school. A person had received a meandering letter from a relative who was eventually diagnosed with schizophrenia. It started off with something like "Dear sister. I am writing to you with a pen. The pen is made..." and then just kept derailing from there.

Now, I don't think Dump has schizophrenia, and I'm not a psychologist capable of giving out diagnoses anyway, but I think about this case often with the Führer Wannabe. He's all over the place and can't seem to focus or think straight. There is something very, very wrong with him.

As I understand it, he's joining a rally organized by someone else who invited Trump to get promoted by him.
Doesn't cost Trump anything.

Trump's biological age has to be close to 90. You can't be 300ish lbs, never exercise, have a **** diet, nose bump addy and go on exchanging oxygen for very long.
