The latest episode of the Skeptics Guide to the Universe podcast (#1003) has Andrea Jones-Rooy as a guest host. She's a political scientist who has worked with Nate Silver in the past and talks in the show about polling and political forecasting. A good listen, if you're into that sort of thing.

A history of psychiatric problems isn't a good reason to discount what a person is saying. That she's bat **** crazy is a good reason.

Very few Americans realize that, if Trump is NOT elected, this will be the last election. Far from being a threat to democracy, he is the only way to save it!

Let me explain: if even 1 in 20 illegals become citizens per year, something that the Democrats are expediting as fast as humanly possible, that would be about 2 million new legal voters in 4 years.

The voting margin in the swing states is often less than 20 thousand votes. That means if the “Democratic” Party succeeds, there will be no more swing states!!

Moreover, the Biden/Harris administration has been flying “asylum seekers”, who are fast-tracked to citizenship, directly into swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and Arizona. It is a surefire way to win every election.

America then becomes a one-party state and Democracy is over. The only “elections” will be the Democratic Party primaries. This already happened in California many years ago, following the 1986 amnesty.

The only thing holding California back from extreme socialism and suffocating government policies is that people can leave California and still remain in America. Once the whole country is controlled by one party, there will be no escape.

Everywhere in America will be like the nightmare that is downtown San Francisco.

A tariff just is a tax or duty to be paid on a particular class of imports or exports.

All you do is impose a tax on goods and services sold to foreign countries, business, and citizens. And we do need the revenue. On the other hand, it's a bit like shooting yourself in the foot economically.

It's a worry, right now the interest on the debt is running over one trillion dollars and likely to become bigger than Social Security expenditures. It's all because of the TCJA of 2017 which lowered taxes on companies and people. I sure hope it expires in 2025 and people making less than $50,000 a year start paying the higher rates of the AMT.

On the flip side if Trump does manage to get in. Maybe he will make Treasury Bonds into convertible bonds which become shares of Truth Social. That's make the $35 trillion dollar national debt disappear. Investopedia has a nice article on that.

What do you think having DPD is if not being ◊◊◊◊◊◊* crazy? I have a good friend whose younger sister has been diagnosed with DPD and believe me, she's ◊◊◊◊◊◊* crazy. The things my friend has had to deal with because of her sister is unbelievable.
