This is my first election in the US - do they predict the undecided seats at all, or just go with confirmed numbers

This isn't looking good for Alexei, since the early votes were coming in from Chicago and the collar counties.

Tightening up fast, it's now 48.5% to 46.1% Giannoulias with 63% reporting.

ABC seems to be ahead of CNN in this. ABC has 56% Precincts Reporting and Sestak is now leading 52-48. CNN only has 33% reporting.

Whether mid-terms or presidential election, the whole Senate is never up for election at one time.

btw, the winner of the Illinois Senate race starts serving immediately (assuming it's the same winner for election and the unexpired term), as he will finish the term of Obama.

So far the only Dem loss I heard of in the Senate was Blanche Lincoln, blue dog of Arkansas. Not the most devastating loss. Still looks like a strong chance of holding the Senate.

Sarah Palin believes in evolution! Just heard her not 30s ago on Fox News with Geraldine Ferraro. They were having a bitchfest about sexism, and Sarah started talking about "Neanderthals" who make vicious attacks that women with little children should not be outside the home (Geraldine: I had that, too), and Sarah said, "And I hope these Neanderthals evolve into something better..."

Yes, but are those upstate Chicago precincts, or are they downstate rural precincts? That's a pretty critical question.

However, I will admit that at this point, 5% is a pretty big gap to cover.

Actually, there's more of us Kansas dem's than you think... we actually have a majority in Wyandotte and Douglas counties (but admittedly nowhere else in the state).
