They will predict based on exit polling. You will sometimes see seats called the minute the polls close.

Well in some places you can understand that. I hear the three democrat voters in Kansas could not get the time off work
 
btw, the winner of the Illinois Senate race starts serving immediately (assuming it's the same winner for election and the unexpired term), as he will finish the term of Obama.
 
So far the only Dem loss I heard of in the Senate was Blanche Lincoln, blue dog of Arkansas. Not the most devastating loss. Still looks like a strong chance of holding the Senate.
 
Sarah Palin believes in evolution! Just heard her not 30s ago on Fox News with Geraldine Ferraro. They were having a bitchfest about sexism, and Sarah started talking about "Neanderthals" who make vicious attacks that women with little children should not be outside the home (Geraldine: I had that, too), and Sarah said, "And I hope these Neanderthals evolve into something better..."

Actually, there's more of us Kansas dem's than you think... we actually have a majority in Wyandotte and Douglas counties (but admittedly nowhere else in the state).
 
Kirk just pulled ahead of Giannoulias in Illinois, with 78% reporting. Up by about 9,000 votes now.
