We have a GP who is a homoeopath giving a public meeting the week after next. The local SITP group would like to take the opportunity for some good publicity and to perhaps get some of the attendees thinking. We definitely do not want to be confrontational, but I've not done anything like this...
Seeing the 'Don't do it Carrie' video here
http://freethoughtblogs.com/pharyngula/2012/02/23/episode-cccv-dont-do-it-carrie/
made me think....DOH!!!
Can we distill the homeoptahic question down to:
'If there is an effective prescribable dose of homeopathic remedies, why is there no apparent...
I keep coming across this "reference" on a variety of pro-homeopathic websites as evidence in favour of homeopathy (this is from The European Network of Homeopathic Researchers):
I know it's only a patient survey so pretty much not worth the paper it's written on but I keep coming across the...
Hello,
I recently signed up for health cover through my job. I noticed that amongst all of the conventional treatments (optical, dental, etc), that it also covers homeopathy, osteopathy (not sure if woo?), acupuncture and chiropracty.
Is this standard practice with insurance companies? Do...
Hi
I watched James in some or other TedX video drinking a whole box of homeopathic sleeping pills. It has come to my attention that some homeopaths rebrand conventional medicine and sell it as homeopathic. The demonstration should be made with a warning or disclaimer against something like this.
Peter Hain MP recommends homeopathy in lieu of malaria preventions and vaccination!
In an interview with the British Homeopathic Association this month he made this murderously irresponsible statement, "I have used [homeopathy] when travelling as a government minister to countries with a...
The UK Advertising Standards Authority has released its adjudication on claims made by homoeopathic charity "H:MC21" in an advert run in the New Statesman last October.
ASA Adjudication: Homeopathy: Medicine for the 21st Century.
Complaints upheld on 7 out of 12 points.
The original advert...
I see Dana Ullman, promoter of self and of quackery in every form, particularly homeopathy, has attacked Randi in an ad hom fashion about his perceptive and effective criticisms of homeopathy.

I finally figured it out, it CAN save a life.
Salt is capable of causing De-Hydration. If you were to put it in a container of water, Dilute it, Shake it, Eventually, you would get VERY Diluted salt, which would cure dehydration. This could possibly SAVE LIVES!
Can I haz da million $s?
Have you guys and girls heard about this yet?
Boiron, a French company that produces homeopathic 'remedies' (most notably Oscillococcinum) is threatening legal actions against an Italian blogger, Samuele Riva. Basically Riva wrote about the nonsense of Oscillococcinum on his blog.
Now I don't...
Here's a challenge one can make to believers in homeopathy etc. :
When you have a homeopathy remedy, make up a remedy that looks and tastes exactly similar. Label it in some way that can't casually be seen.
Then randomize. Take one of the remedies; guess whether you've gotten the homeopathy...
I recently looked into this website:
web.telia.com/~u59500234/
English version on the right side of the screen.
What do you guys think about it?Author make his case about "mirror matter","mind brain" etc, even sying that some experiments have been carried out to prove it...
Dear skeptics,
I am back after a long,
Yesterday I worked with old data of physilogical variability to find an accurate statistical measure for the identification of homeopathic medicine. I was able to find out marked change in graphs of Auto regressive spectrum of placebo readings and medicine...

Homeopathy – the natural way to sleep easy
The Homeopathy Research Institute has recently reviewed the evidence for homoeopathy's effectiveness in insomnia:
The past four days I've had a sore throat with an earache. I went to the local pharmacy and asked for an OTC drug to help with the symptoms.
The pharmacist matter-of-factly recommended Cold-Eeze. Since it was right next to other cold medicines, and since it was a pharmacist, and since it had an...
To start off I must explain that my husband is an accountant and loves to play with numbers. So when we were at the store and I noticed a homeopathy display I just had to tell him what the silly dilution numbers actually meant. His eyes lit up as he started to do the numbers and he came up...
If you haven't yet signed the following petition (started by the JREF), please consider doing so now:
http://www.change.org/petitions/close-the-quack-medicine-loophole-for-homeopathic-remedies
Text of said petition is as follows:
Homeopathy used to be fairly benign and silly flim-flam for...
Given the fact that consumers now have the choice between purchasing homeopathic remedies or pharmaceutical drugs, why don't the major drug companies, with their billions of dollars in revenue and massive lobbying power, do more to stop the spread of these woo-woo hucksters?
Any idiot with an...
Before learning of James Randi, I had no idea what Homeopathy was. I, probably like many others, assumed it was just an herbal remedy or alternative medicine. I did on a few occasions actually seek out homeopathic remedies instead of traditional over the counter remedies for simple things, like...
Is homeopathy more popular and/or well-known in the U.K. than in the U.S.?
I ask this because I have seen more articles and YouTube videos about homeopathy that come from Britain than from here in the States. I am pretty sure that if I were to ask 10 Americans about homeopathy 9 of them would...
http://www.change.org/petitions/tell-retail-pharmacies-to-come-clean-about-homeopathic-products
It appears to be a bandwagon appeal. Unless I am missing out on something, petitions stating that some theory or political position is useless is, well useless. For an example, that petition of 600...

My grandma is a registered homeopath and offers treatments at her home. She used to treat me and my siblings (and cousins) when we were ill and I just remembered that before she dished out the sugar pills she used to usually test us with some electronic buzzing pain thingy.
It was a hand held...
Was a bit saddened to hear a commercial for Zyvestra, a homeopathic product which claims to ease the symptoms of vertigo. Maybe they've run spots for other homeopathic products, but this is the first I've heard.
Here in the UK, it appears that a third of NHS trusts fund homeopathic treatment:

Public money is wasted in a similar fashion in other countries, to an even greater extent...
A case now pending before the United States Supreme Court involves issues of science. The case is Matrixx Initiatives, Inc. v. Siracusano.
In the court of oral arguments, the Court gets into questions relating to psychics, science, irrational people, homeopathy, satanic influence, and perhaps...
A friend just got back from a neurologist (M.D.), to whom he'd been sent by his regular doctor to investigate the origin of my friend's migraines. It was supposed to be a "check things out, do an MRI, make sure there are no tumors" sort of visit.
When my friend got in to see the doctor, the...
