Wow..., where do you find the time? I'll certainly have to check some of those out, thanks.

I listen at work. When I'm doing paper work, I sit at my desk a lot.

Plus, a bunch of them are short (half hour or less), so it's not that bad.

Mr. Deity

The funniest thing I have seen in a while is Mr. Deity--a video podcast on Itunes, which you can also find on Youtube, and on their website mrdeity.com. I laughed my tuchas off.

Podcast

Here's a podcast that's relatively new that I enjoy called the Mental Masturbation podcast. They're only 4 episodes in and they've talked about a number of things. The only problem is they don't have an RSS feed but I just go download it from their site every week. If you just do a google search for "Mental Masturbation Podcast" their internet archive file page will be up and you can download the first file their or get redirected to their website from their.

My podcast is called Skeptical Viewer. (I can't post links to it yet; seek us on iTunes.) It's currently on hiatus, but I'm hoping to post a new episode or two shortly. Or be back here announcing a new podcast. It's kind of a long story.

Is that the one with the two guys who watch all the ghost hunter shows and give commentary? I liked that one. I was worried it had podfaded for good. Glad to hear that you'll be back doing something.

Thanks! Yes, that's us (me, rather). I have one podcast left to edit down. However, my cohost no longer has time, and it's his web site. I'm trying to decide whether to continue the podcast under its current identity or start a new one.

That's too bad. I like the banter between the two of you. Since I don't have the paitence or the finances (to buy TVs when I throw stuff at stupidity) I liked that I could hear what was going on in that realm without endangering my blood pressure.

I hope you return. Maybe you cohort will have a slackening in time someday.

Wow that is a lot of podcasts in one post! I am going to have to check out some of the ones mentioned in this thread. I am trying to get back to a regular workout routine but I like to listen to podcasts when I do it, and I burn through Skeptoid episodes too quickly. =P

The one caveat I'll give for the Amature Scientist podcast, if you're easily offended, don't listen. Brian is damned funny, but not for the squeemish.

True, the following on my list are not for the squeamish:

Irreligiosophy (If you're not offended, please tell the cohosts and they'll work harder at it)
ReapSowRadio
The Amateur Scientist Podcast

I've never heard of the first two. Your comment on the first sounds like a challenge. I'm known amongst my friends at being botheringly hard to offend, so that sounds like my kind of show.

You can always try our show WARNING: Radio with Bryan & Baxter.
We have some great guests. Last week we talked to Jeff Wagg, Alison Smith and Banachek. This week we have Captain Disillusion plus the "para-stupid" news.

check it out, we are on mondays at 9:00 pm eastern at www.warningradio.info

Thanks for the lists everyone.

I will look into some of those.

My contribution to the discusion...
As of today I subscribe to these skeptic related podcasts:

The Amateur Scientist
Are We Alone - where science isn't alien.
For Good Reason
Little Atoms
The Naked Scientists
Point of Inquiry
Righteous Indignation - Skeptical About the Supernatural
Skepchick Podcast
Skepticallity: The Official Podcast of Skeptic Magazine
The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe
The Skeptics' Guide 5x5
Skeptoid: Critical Analysis of Pop Phenomena

I manage to get through all this (plus the other podcasts I subscribe to) because I listen while traveling.

I believe skeptoid is a must-have. The skeptic guide to the universe is good, even though sometimes steve novella can be really a pain.

Hello new here and was hoping for a little help with this topic. I am seeking some podcast similar to Skeptoid. Now before anyone simply repeats the other suggestions allow me to filter out some of these. First off, why i listen to skeptoid. I quite enjoy listening to a topic put under critical thinking without a preconceived notion going in. As it turns out i happen to be a christian, however i do not mind hearing some ideas that challenge my beliefs as long as they are put forth respectfully, in which brian dunning does a fairly decent job despite his personal feelings. That said i am not looking for any theme based show especially one that makes it a point to only target my beliefs without any true objective critical thinking. Ideally i am seeking a podcast with no central theme other then putting various topics under true critical thinking without preconceived notions. Also after giving skepticallity a chance i think a show without guest as it seems as listening that skepticism takes a back seat so to not offend the guest.

Just need a few more podcast to fill out my week. Currently listening to skeptoid, The Naked Scientists, Buzz out loud, and bunch of twit network cast. Since podcast are not something that one can try great numbers of in short times i was hoping for a little more filtering down.

thanks

Skeptoid is probably unique in that arena. The only other one that comes close is Monster Talk. They look at cryptids and other phenomenon with a critical eye. It's closer to an hour, so they can go into more depth. Give them a listen and see if it fills the bill and we'll see if anyone else comes up with something else.

I'll add InKredulous to the list - a skeptical panel game, with rounds like "Name that Bull:rule10!" and "Dr Woo". I got into it recently after a bit of cross promotion from the Geologic Podcast; George Hrab was a panellist on episode 6.
