I bought a new laptop. The other one broke, again. Didn't feel like spending another 500 euro on repairing it when I could buy a new, better one for 400. Will soon buy a desktop computer for gaming and rendering of images etc.

And the human component is doing just mighty fine. Enjoying it's study and it's human companion.

hehe, I like that it's a baboon.. Except it's probably a gorilla.. And I also like how it is purple. Except in a white color.
It's a combination of 2 things that I like a lot. Monkeys and strange but subtle color effects.

I don't feel like spamming yet...

Not upgrading; repairing. And yes, still lurking, mostly. I like it that way.. How is your stay on this forum?

Hi back to you. Hubby is back, he was 3rd in the Euwe Ideal Tournament, I think the website will be down by now. He had some draws that he regretted afterwards, but on the whole he liked the tournament very much. He might be playing in the Remco Heite tournament in Wolvega, but unfortunately the website is in Dutch. However, you might be able to follow his games, just look out for John van der Wiel. I'll tell him you will be watching... ;-)

Lurking is a good pastime, there is an interesting game going on in the MCD thread about The Professor, and I am trying to keep up. However, since I do not know that much about claims, I just read, and wonder...

Yes, it is nice to meet you. What a pity that you are too far away. Of course with an extremely large country like Brazil the chance was slim. I do not know much about chess, I only started to take a course last year (always good to know what your husband is up to...) but I'll never make it to any elo-rating, I'm afraid.
But I speak chess fluently, as you can see. ;-)
I hope your parents like Europe.

I am Femke, I joined recently, just like you. My husband (GM) is leaving for Brazil tomorrow, he will play in Sao Paulo, you are not near there, by chance?
