It seems that Kevin Barrett is vocalization that which was sealed. Is this the writers leeway to what happened or just another attempt by CT's gain traction on the slippery ice of 9/11? :rolleyes:

Again, there is no evidence other than "no comment" by Barr that there is anything to reveal, just a CTers believes, or the families lawyers who might be a CTer himself. Barrett needs to read more testimony/statements before panels/judges before making any comments.

Why didn't the families/attorneys submit this kind of proceedings during the last administration? I sure that Eric Holder or Loreta Lynch would have gladly spilled the beans and provided the "necessary" truth to the grieving families of 9/11. :rolleyes:

Bottom Line: We (the USA) have an asset in Saudi Intelligence. Probably have had this guy since the late 1990s. Much of the "28 Pages" intel came from this person, and outing him will mean his death. Revealing the name could compromise the current Saudi government, and our overall relationship with them. So it stays secret.

This should be no surprise.

Probably true. It would be a surprise if "we" didn't. And the asset is safe as long as "they" don't have to admit that they know about 'him'.

It's one of those "We know that you know and you know that we know but both of us can pretend that we don't know or that we don't know that you know...."

The Saudis are master tightrope walkers. They control Mecca, and that makes them a target for fanatics (the ones they don't back), and it gives them added influence on top of their oil resources. They work with the US because we promise to come running any time one of their neighbors makes a threat. But they also work with Israel in the shadows against their common enemy: Iran. There are remote airfields in the Saudi desert where the IAF can set up forward staging areas for refueling, and re-arming their aircraft for a potential strike on Iran's nuclear weapons production (once it is up and running).

Their problem is the Royal Family is so large that keeping track of all the members requires a dedicated branch of Saudi Intelligence, and the other problem is since it's all a family run business Saudi Intelligence will look the other way when asked by specific family members. I doubt Saudi intelligence knew the specifics of 911, but they knew who was giving Al Qaeda money. It's an open question as to if the Saudis who did donate money knew Al Qaeda was planning to strike CONUS.

The Saudis likely know who their mole is, possibly even sanction his activities. The problems with naming him are not only that, should they be unaware of his identity his head will come off, but the revelation will jeopardize the Saudis politically and socially within the Arab world. Yes, I know the Saudis already are greatly disliked, but some things are harder to rebound from than others.

In a way the US is right back where we started before 9/11/2001. We are stuck having to back dictators against dictators who are backed by the Russians and or China. The Saudis just 911'd the oil market, which underlines their true power over the west, and the industrial world. And they're not even pissed off, they just wanted to hose the Russians, and in the process kicked the US and Canadian oil companies in the nuts. Mohammed bin Salman is an interesting development. Many of his moves are designed to get the US off Saudi Arabia's back while maintaining our flexible relationship. His "reforms" suggest awareness of the problems Wahhabism has created in the Middle East, and Near Asia. bin Salman is playing a new long-game, and as usual the US can't be sure where we'll stand in five or ten years.

I don't think revealing the intel in court will be wise. The fact that Keven Barret wants it released suggests it would be a disaster.

What you seem to be claiming here, fonebone, is that the US government is trying to cover up what it knows about possible Saudi government involvement in the 9/11 attacks, to hide the fact that the Saudis weren't involved at all.

9/11 Truthers should today be 18.5 years older than they were on 9/11. Yet they increasingly resort to childish antics such as making up orthography for no apparent reason.
In recent days, another Truther on Facebook had the weird idea that ozeco41 and I are the same person, and addressed is by joint initials instead of simply our individual names.

As if oz and Oy were not sure about who we are.

You may not know the irony about my involvement.

Serious discussion of my main area of interest - Twin Towers collapse physics - was dying here circa 2013-5. And I was planning to give up activity rather than drift down with the lowering standards of troll feeding.

Then a member here asked my if I would come to a FaceBook group where an engineer member who was a truther (there are a few of them) wanted a "Real Engineer" to debate. So I agreed. The truther took one look at my CV for the task and disappeared off the scene. But I found that there was still active discussion of WTC collapse physics. And several years behind the state on the three leading forums .

So I had a bit of fun teaching collapse forensic physics for a couple of years. Then interest in serious stuff died there as trolling and troll feeding became the norm.

I still need to give the game away. But over recent weeks have had discussions with two of the top level players from one of the truther groups.

They must have edited out the part where the judge asked "can't you just give me a little hint?" and "does it start with a vowel?" and "is it animal, vegetable, or mineral?" and suggested "c'mon, just tell me, pretty please with sugar on top." Unfortunately, the information is classified above Sugar On Top Secret level.
