The prophecies of Ama

These 1976 prophecies were revealed by the spirit of Ama on 1975-12-24 at 2:30am that Marcial Aguila jotted down. “pasalubong” is a Filipino word meaning “from the source” brought in a souvenir who one went to the place. So, for example, you went to the Netherlands, you brought in as “pasalubong” to friends and relatives wooden shoes from the Netherlands.

People have been bringing home disappointing souvenirs since way before 1976.

What happened on 1976-02 that sadden the whole world? I remember Ama saying about bowls (“mangkok”) that were poured out by His angels (Revelation 16).

So it wasn't fulfilled, then? What saddened the whole world in that month?
A prophecy that was incredibly vague and could've referred to anything, yet it still didn't come true.

Well, here's what Wiki says happened in February 1976:

February 4
The 1976 Winter Olympics begin in Innsbruck, Austria.
In Guatemala and Honduras an earthquake kills more than 22,000.
February 5 – Nearly 2,000 students become involved in a racially charged riot at Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida; 30 students are injured in the 4-hour fray.
February 9 – The Australian Defence Force is formed by unification of the Australian Army, the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force.
February 11 – Clifford Alexander, Jr. is confirmed as the first African American Secretary of the United States Army.
February 13 – General Murtala Mohammed of Nigeria is assassinated in a military coup.
February 15 – The 1976 Constitution of Cuba is adopted by national referendum.
February 24 – Cuba's current constitution is enacted.
February 26 – The Spanish Armed Forces withdraw from Western Sahara.
February 27 – The Polisario Front, Western Sahara's national liberation movement, declares independence of the territory under the name "Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic".
February 28 - Madagascar becomes the first country to recognise the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

The only thing which comes close to fulfilling the prophecy is the earthquake in Guatemala, which was a tragedy, but hardly something which saddened the whole world. 40 years ago with no rolling news, most people would be completely unaware of the true extent of the devastation. However, the "from the source" makes no sense at all if the earthquake was what was meant.

The prophecy is so vague as to be meaningless anyway, and given that disasters resulting in loss of life occur with depressing frequency, it's really unimpressive.

That seems to be a theme for the "Ama" nonsense. It's an old "Psychic" trick. Making vague claims sets the stage for confirmation bias to loop in the gullible and stupid.

1976 Prophecy 11 – It will be witnessed in the fourth month (1976-04) the widespread burning in many parts of the world. (Sa ikaapat na buwan naman ay masasaksihan ang malaganap na pagkakasunog sa maraming dako ng daigdig.)

Wiki'slist of events in April:
April 1
Apple Computer Company is formed by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.
Conrail (Consolidated Rails Corporation) is formed by the U.S. government, to take control of 13 major Northeast Class-1 railroads that had filed for bankruptcy protection. Conrail takes control at midnight, as a government-owned and operated railroad until 1986, when it is sold to the public.
The Jovian–Plutonian gravitational effect is first reported by astronomer Patrick Moore.
Rwanda recognizes the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).
April 2 – Norodom Sihanouk is forced to resign as Head of State of Kampuchea by the Khmer Rouge led by Pol Pot and is placed under house arrest.
April 3 – The Eurovision Song Contest 1976 is won by Brotherhood of Man, representing the United Kingdom, with their song "Save Your Kisses for Me".
April 5
James Callaghan becomes Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
Tiananmen Incident: Large crowds lay wreaths at Beijing's Monument of the Martyrs to commemorate the death of Premier Zhou Enlai. Poems against the Gang of Four are also displayed, provoking a police crackdown.
April 10 - Frampton Comes Alive!, the multi-platinum selling live album by English rock musician Peter Frampton hits #1 in the Billboard 200 and remains there for 10 weeks, becoming the best-selling album of the year.
April 13
An explosion in an ammunition factory in Lapua, Finland kills 40.
The United States Treasury Department reintroduces the two-dollar bill as a Federal Reserve Note on Thomas Jefferson's 233rd birthday as part of the United States Bicentennial celebration.
April 16 – As a measure to curb population growth, the minimum age for marriage in India is raised to 21 years for men and 18 years for women.
April 21 – The Great Bookie Robbery in Melbourne: Bandits steal A$1.4 million in bookmakers' settlements from Queen Street, Melbourne.
April 23 – The punk rock group the Ramones release their first self-titled album.
April 25 – Portugal's new constitution is enacted.
April 26 – British actor Sid James dies on stage from a heart attack.

Nope, no widespread burning. Yet another FAILED prophecy.

It's figurative burning! See, Bruce Springsteen was on the Born To Run tour in 1976 and half of that album's songs mention fire.
"They haunt this dusty beach road in the skeleton frames of burned out Chevrolets..."
"And every muscle in your body sings as the highway ignites..."
"Trying in vain to breathe the fire we was born in..."
""Outside the street's on fire in a real death waltz..."

Widespread burning, prophecy fulfilled!

Was it too difficult for you to Google this yourself?

By the way, sad events happen during every month of every year. Another hopelessly vague prophecy from a fraud.

PS, please do not interpret the sentence about sad events to mean I'm a prophet of doom or an incurable pessimist. There are happy events every month too. It's like Bruce Cockburn said:
Little round planet
In a big universe
Sometimes it looks blessed
Sometimes it looks cursed
Depends on what you look at obviously
But even more it depends on the way that you see.

Thank you, LaurelHS (#1635) and Agatha (#1643), for your researches.

This is what Marcial Aguila wrote in the Philippine Panorama magazine article issued on 1980-03-30 titled “A blind woman sees the wisdom of the Lord”:

“Every year since 1973, during the last days of December, the Voice would tell of significant ‘things to come’ the coming year. And the events had taken place as previously announced by the Voice.

“For one, the Voice told of the Guatemala catastrophe two months before it happened. The announcement was made on Christmas eve, Dec. 24, 1975. The Voice announced then: ‘In the second month of the new year (1976) mankind will witness an event that will be cause for great sorrow ...’ Evidently and undoubtedly, the Voice was referring to the Guatemala catastrophe that was to take place in February, 1976.”

The blind woman is Maria Liwayway Alvaran or Ka Apaz. The Voice is the spirit of Ama.

When you learn how to use Google yourself, look up "postdiction", also known as "hindsight bias." Your post contains a classic example of it.

Your translation seems to differ somewhat from that of Marcial Aguila, PC.
What happened to it "making the whole world sad"? A little editing in his article because the event didn't do so, perhaps?

Many of us have found a workaround...
"Take soothing Pepto-Bismol and feel GOOD again!"

"Burn to Run"?

Pasalubong? Hmmm! Pass le bong. Aha! It all makes sense now.

1976 Prophecy 12 – Women’s disregard and care for their honor will continue. Many of them will become pregnant as single or as maiden. Complete forgetfulness of many men and women who will make explicit sex or sin will be witnessed.
