I was trying to get a better handle on the claims.

I'm still wrapping my head around it myself. A lot of this is based upon the "Mythological history" concept used to explain why ancient people did things like claim the Gods lived on a particular mountain when it was easy to observe the mountain and see no one was there.

Imagine for a moment that PC is arguing that the Enterprise-D could defeat an Imperial Star Destroyer in combat. From his point of view, he can mix and match bits and pieces of movie, TV, cartoon and comic book cannon along with fan fiction for both series written by Ama. We, however, are responding by discussing how the theories of FTL travel from both fictional universes are incompatible, and a battle would be impossible since neither exists ANYWAY.

PC is arguing that Ama's Fan-fiction says the Enterprise-D would win, while we're pointing out that the Federation and the Star Ware Empire are fictional.

Actually, they didn't. There is no archaeological evidence of anyone wandering around there for 40 years. It's a fable that the rabbis told to the Israelites while they were captives in Babylon, raising their morale by telling them that they were in captivity before but managed to escape.

Even though they weren't captives in Egypt at all. Likewise, the various plagues in Exodus are also myths.

Remember also that this Earth is a test for us, a strainer, a sieve.

Why would a god have to test someone? Wouldn't it know whether someone would pass or fail? Wouldn't it also know the best way to train each individual, rather than throwing them into a box like china cups and shaking it to see who breaks?
