...according to the things your club have added to, and altered in, the xianist scriptures; addenda and appendices of macculate provenance, demonstrable a-historicity, and impeachable authorship. Again I say: you have my permission to do whatever woo! you do, with consenting adults in the privacy of your clubhouses. You can even re-write the xianist books, and edit your own books (as the laws change); you may argue with xinianists all you want.

You do err when you pretend that your version of "scripture" is the xianist scripture, or should govern xianists; you do err even more severely when you pretend that you, personally, who do not even follow all of your own strictures (I'm a vegetarian, but I am still tempted by bacon--tasty, innit?), may and should pretend that your amended scriptures do (and ought to) apply to me, or to anyone else who does not share any part of your superstition.

What have I and mine done, today, among ourselves, in my demesne, that has influenced or affected you and yours in any way? Since the answer is "Nothing", why do you feel the right to tell me what to do? What makes you, insisting that I must follow your interpretation of the "rules" in you altered-and-added-to version of the xianist scriptures any different from the nooligans insisting that all of London must follow Shaira? If you are right, why aren't they?

... but is, on the other hand, said to have said that there is no marriage in heaven?
I honestly wish you would address this.
Vicarious ordinances, including Eternal Marriages, are sealed for Eternity on this earth... in The Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Though there is necessarily a veil over our remembrance, our Spirits recognise both truth and our Heavenly Father from our pre-mortal life, where we certainly could see hear and touch.

We have a "pre-mortal life"? :eye-poppi

I don't believe you; where's your evidence?

"Abraham first received the gospel by baptism (which is the covenant of salvation). Then he had conferred upon him the higher priesthood, and he entered into celestial marriage (which is the covenant of exaltation), gaining assurance thereby that he would have eternal increase. Finally he received a promise that all of these blessings would be offered to all of his mortal posterity (D&C 132:29–50; Abr. 2:6–11).
Included in the divine promises to Abraham were the assurances that:
(1) Christ would come through his lineage, and that (2) Abraham’s posterity would receive certain lands as an eternal inheritance (Gen. 17; 22:15–18; Gal. 3; Abr. 2). These promises taken together are called the “Abrahamic covenant.” It was renewed with Isaac (Gen. 26:1–4, 24) and again with Jacob (Gen. 28; 35:9–13; 48:3–4). The portions of the covenant that pertain to personal salvation and eternal increase are renewed with each individual who receives the ordinance of celestial marriage (see D&C 132:29–33). "

Even though Jesus himself is recorded as specifically disallowing them in heaven?

Thank you. That is exactly the point I have been making all along. You and your sektebundt made up your own rules, rules that contradict the xianist new testament. You should be embarrassed to pretend that the rules you invented apply to anyone who does not choose to be subject to them.

Of course.

...evidence...?

(and do remember that the xianist scriptures are not "evidence", much less so, then, are the things your sect added to their version of the xianist scriptures)

What physical, practical, empirical, demonstrable, not-dependent-upon-"faith" evidence have you to offer for this "pre-mortal life"?

Of course.

What do you mean "of course" we have a pre-mortal life. This might be Mormon doctrine but AFAIK there's not a shred of evidence to support such a notion. And Mormonism hardly counts for anything in the real world so don't bother quoting it.

ROTFLOL, Oh that is hysterical. So you're defining Christian as LDS and no other religion? Most people define Christian as Catholic, Baptist, Lutheranism, Methodist, Presbyterian... and maybe LDS. Nah, the major Christian denominations don't use the Book of Mormon, D&C, or the Pearl of Great Price, except to make fun of them.

Jan is very knowledgeable about doctrine but I think lacks knowledge about the social aspect of Mormonism. 'She' has misspoken a couple times the past week in ways that I don't think a real LDS would. Do YOU think she is LDS?

I've seen no evidence that Jan is anything other than what she claims to be.

While she and I may differ politically, socially, and at times even doctrinally, yeah I do.

You're confusing me now Janadele. Did your pre-mortal life include when you were Queen Elizabeth the 1st and writing Shakespeare, or are you referring to some time before that?

I mean, I'm pretty sure both Liz 1st and Bill of Stratford were actual mortals, so does "pre-mortal" include when you were mortal previously, or does it refer to a time before your very first birth?

Any chance of an answer, Janadele?

<gibbersnip>

Christian Scriptures include:
The Old and New Testaments of The Holy Bible... as far as translated correctly.
The Book of Mormon. The Pearl of Great Price. The Doctrine and Covenants.

You forgot to mention the Great Hymn to The Aten, although you're possibly more familiar with the plagiarised version in Psalm 104. You've also forgotten the Epic of Gilgamesh and a few other assorted Babylonian yarns.

And while I'm on the subject, how come your silly little god forgot to invent monotheism? Pretty stupid oversight, wasn't it?
