As prejudiced and hateful as Janadele's posts are, I don't see that she's given any indication that she would like to see random violence, drug use, polygamy or pedophilia freely practiced by Mormons.

Yeah, for that you have to read an Orson Scott Card novel.

What does this have to do with LDS ?
Everything :) "Enoch, Abraham, and Moses all had revelations on astronomy, and Joseph Smith called the first newspaper of the LDS Church The Evening and the Morning Star. Abraham gazed into the Urim and Thummim and was swept away in a vision of the heavens. Beyond the violent hurricanes of Jupiter and the twisted rings of Saturn, past swirling black holes and the blinding explosions of living stars he traveled until he approached the throne of God. Then, "face to face, as one man talketh with another," he spoke with the Lord, and like Enoch before him and Moses after him, he was shown "those things which [God's] hands had made, which were many; and they multiplied before mine eyes, and I could not see the end thereof" (Abraham 3: 4-15). Abraham was taught astronomy from the Being who organized it all, "the times and seasons in the revolutions thereof"of stars and planets, the earth and the sun." http://www.johnpratt.com/items/docs/lds/meridian/2000/mormastr2.html

In which cases? So this would the "The People vs. whom"?

Now now, I'm sure she made that statement in good faith, based on her genuine current recollection of something she heard or read somewhere, at some point, and accepted as true at the time. And I'm sure she'll get around to telling us where she heard it if she happens to have the free time, and if she feels like it at that moment.

Notwithstanding that everything in the above post is a complete crock, I had a look at your link and couldn't find anything about the hollow Earth or the second Sun. Where do they come into the story?

Where is your control button? You know, the one that allows you to occasionally think and speak for yourself.

Jesus Christ on a sesame seed bun. You're quoting from the Book of Abraham. On a thread where it has been shown beyond any doubt that it is a pathetic, phony crock. The universe just doesn't contain enough facepalms.

Beautiful imagry is all very well, Janadele, but does it justify the fraudulent underpinnings of the LDS scriptures?

She should change her screen name to MormonBot.

All LDS members have made a conscious decision to forever surrender the abilities of which you speak.

I'm sure Skyrider44 will be happy to provide more details, should they be required.

Where are such things as the violent atmosphere of Jupiter, the intertwining of certain Saturnian rings, black holes or stellar explosions mentioned anywhere by Joseph Smith regarding the Book Of Abraham? Because any of that stuff would have counted as a truly impressive revelation.

What in the.............????

People who break the law are, of course, often summoned to court and fined. In most civilised countries, a business which supplies a service and refuses to serve someone solely because of their ethnicity, religious beliefs, gender or sexual orientation is breaking the law.
1) ...Are you saying people boycotting bigoted business are engaging in oppression?
kelly, My post does not mention nor refer to "boycotting" at any time.
Pixel, reference to a baker refusing to provide wedding cakes and rainbow cakes for same sex celebrations is NOT "refusing to serve someone" it is instead a baker exercising his right of choice to refuse to use his personal skills to bake and provide a specific order of a symbolic cake which by so doing would endorse/support the celebration of an immoral, disgusting, abhorrent lifestyle and abomination against Eternal Laws of God and of nature.

Rand, this is already happening... Kindergarden children are even being taught they can choose the gender they wish to be. Perhaps yourself and other posters here are not aware of the Radical Homosexual Agenda. Christian preachers have already been fined and gaoled for "discriminating" by teaching the word of God regarding homosexual activity. Adoption agencies have been legally forced to close for refusing to facilitate adoption of the children in their care to same sex couples. Bakers / shop keepers who refuse to provide wedding cakes and rainbow cakes for same sex celebrations, providers of other wedding services, providers of accommodations... have been taken to court, fined, and had their businesses closed. On the agenda is an attempt to force Christian Churches to preform same sex marriages or take the consequences of refusing to do so. These are the real agendas of the push for same sex marriage and just some examples of how law can be used under the guise of "discrimination".
But this is not the thread for further discussion on these matters.

I'd love to know in which universe "Refusing to serve someone because I'm a hateful bigot that thinks your very existence is an abomination" isn't "Refusing to serve someone."

Uh, yeah, it is, pretty much by definition. "Refusal to provide" and "refusal to serve," in this context, have no different meaning.

You may support their refusal to serve. But it is still refusal to serve.

I think this thread is in need of a boycott.

No, I disagree. Hatred and bigotry is best exposed raw.

Janadele, please continue. Tell us more about the homos, the darkies, and maybe the homo darkies. We are all ears.
