I quickly browsed through this thread and it seemed like a fairly interesting discussion. I am going to be fairly honest though a lot of psychotic patients say ver y similar things to the OP (no offense). Not saying the OP has schizophrenia or anything but even after treatment most psychotic patients have no real insight into their conditions.
So what's everyone's opinions?
I will not speak for anyone, but the consensus seems to me to be that we do not have enough actual information to make a correct assessment over the interwebs. Flaccon clearly has issues with rational interpretation of events and desperately wants the spirit world to be real. There is a lot of imagination and fantasy in her take on the events in her life.
Marriage not working - Evil spirits did it
Physical of mental health issues - Evil spirits did it
Things seem to get better -Good spirits did it
Are those signs of mental illness? Sure, for some. But severity is key. Mental health assessments can be quite subjective and have a lot to do with how the health professional views the overall situation and the effect on the patient's life and her relationships. Some people are bonkers, others are just gently deluded.
Also, as evidenced in some posts in this very thread, one can experience pareidolia, indulge in paranormal interpretations for a while, then have some sort of epiphany and start to fight their way through the nonsense to go back to a more rational view of reality.
Personally, I think she could benefit greatly from counseling, at the very least.
