I don't log in here because I feel I am unnerving people, and it is not my intention to do so. I am just gathering up what I can.
In nearly 5000 posts here, I don't recall any poster other than you and scrappy giving any credence to your spirits in the laptop theory. So, no, we are not unnerved by your stories.

...You came here already certain of what was at the bottom of your experiences, and have rejected every suggestion and offer of help that would have threatened your manifestly mistaken beliefs.

Not entirely true - she did swap a few 'voice' files and allowed a visit from Alderbank, but when neither Alderbank nor anyone here heard anything unusual, and the hashes proved the files hadn't changed, she misquoted Alderbank, moved the goalposts, and moved on.

flaccon has given hints in previous posts, like this one:

http://www.internationalskeptics.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=9270414#post9270414

It seems clear that flaccon wrongly attributes everyday occurrences like bad luck, people being unpleasant and psychosomatic physical symptoms to supernatural forces.

Thanks Pixel42!

Nebulous at best. I have to admit, I am not overly concerned at what flaccon wished to imagine about herself, but the mention of 'attacks' against children is troubling in the extreme. Whatever actual phenomenon might occur that would lead to a belief in children being attacked needs to be dealt with by someone with a grasp on reality.

ETA: Assuming that anything is happening at all, of course...it could well be entirely imaginary.

I quickly browsed through this thread and it seemed like a fairly interesting discussion. I am going to be fairly honest though a lot of psychotic patients say very similar things to the OP (no offense). Not saying the OP has schizophrenia or anything but even after treatment most psychotic patients have no real insight into their conditions.

So what's everyone's opinions?

It could be worse, I suppose - she could be attributing them to homoeopathic remedies.

I will not speak for anyone, but the consensus seems to me to be that we do not have enough actual information to make a correct assessment over the interwebs. Flaccon clearly has issues with rational interpretation of events and desperately wants the spirit world to be real. There is a lot of imagination and fantasy in her take on the events in her life.

Marriage not working - Evil spirits did it
Physical of mental health issues - Evil spirits did it
Things seem to get better -Good spirits did it

Are those signs of mental illness? Sure, for some. But severity is key. Mental health assessments can be quite subjective and have a lot to do with how the health professional views the overall situation and the effect on the patient's life and her relationships. Some people are bonkers, others are just gently deluded.

Also, as evidenced in some posts in this very thread, one can experience pareidolia, indulge in paranormal interpretations for a while, then have some sort of epiphany and start to fight their way through the nonsense to go back to a more rational view of reality.

Personally, I think she could benefit greatly from counseling, at the very least.

How's that?

I don't know why you don't like me…

No one here has said they don't like you.

I am only trying to get to the bottom of a crazy but positive experience that has been forced upon me.

Considering how many years you've now been following the same pattern on message boards, and dismissing all responses, I don't think that's true. You are simply doing this for some kind of self gratification. No one can give you the answers you want because the answers you want aren't true.

I do believe that if they (the spirits) can help me, and heal me, they can help others too. I might be wrong, but the cost of sounding foolish is worth the effort.

How can "they" help others when you won't even explain how they "helped" you?

Argh! Brand new here and I'm already getting myself in trouble...:footinmou

Hi all,
<snip>
I hope I'm wrong - it bothered me so much that I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. She apparently has friends and family around so if something's going on they'll know it. I don't think she's a danger to herself or anything. I don't know why I'm worrying about her - all I know of her is what she wrote on this thread and based on that I can't say I like her very much.

Mea culpa. I should ended with: "So there's probably nothing to worry about" and left it at that.

Sorry, flaccon :(

That's not the same as actively disliking her. That's just "not liking her much".

Actually, that's the same distinction I made in my head. If I disliked her, I would have just said: "I don't even like her." Either way, though, I'm addressing her and not her actions, so I shouldn't have said anything.
