Ah well I do have a photo of myself I'm thinking of putting up, Min tells me it's a good likeness.

I *am* wondering how you get to post the standard lines of text across the bottom of each post, though.

Click on 'User CP' on the top bar, and then 'Edit signature'. I'm not sure if there's a minimum number of posts you have to make in order to do so, though.

He's showing you how easy it is to make multiple posts of little consequence in order to bump your post count to the point where you can do stuff like post links and set avatars.
 
Yes, ta and ta to Ketyk too - I'm going for the 50 mark now. :)

And yes it looks like the 'Edit Signature' needs more posts than I have. I may complain.

Once you reach 50, I think you'll have to wait a tic or two for the system to register it...then Avatars and Signatures should show up in your User CP.

I read your questions about how many posts one needs for avatars/signatures etc.
I hope some of the other more experienced forumites here can tell me if new features will come to my availability when I reach 500 posts, which is probably soon. Or how many I need to change that text directly under my avatar, the one that says "critical thinker" now.

You can have your title changed through a request from the gods. They may, or may not accept your request.

Many of the newbies' questions are handily answered in the Help section of the forum. It's up there at top right, easy to miss if you're not looking for it.

I recommend browsing the Frequently Asked Questions, as it answers the question about avatars and signatures right at the very top.

I also recommend that you be familiar with the Membership Agreement and the Membership Agreement FAQ. There's also tutorials, hints and tips, a reference for formatting codes and more!

Check it out - it's pretty cool.
