Awesome Party at Remie's?

I'm thinking about having a party during TAM. I live kinda far from Vegas proper, so people without transportation would be unable to attend. Also, I'm kind of poor at the moment, so I can't promise awesomeness (am actually considering trying to raise $150 in donations, which you will get back in delicious foods and drinks), but I can sure give it a try.

The place where I live has awesome pools with tons of hooded grills and covered cabanas and whatnot. For the inside part, well...

I'm thinking about getting a Gamecube when I sell off my Playstation 3 so that we could play some Mario Kart if people wanted.

I make awesome bacon wrapped cream cheese stuffed jalapenos.

I also make a damn fine Chex mix, and lil smokies in BBQ sauce is always good.

Whatchoo think?

This is yet another reason that I'm sad that I won't be making it to TAM this year. Have fun!

You understand you are inviting TAM men over to your residence... Will you take he proper security measures?

*eyeroll*

Why do you have to ruin things? Does it give you some kind of perverse pleasure?

Wowbagger, thinking it over, I believe this is totally workable. :) Let me know how much you'd like to help in funding, and if there's anyone else who would want to join in. I've got plans, y'all. PLANS, I SAY.

Also, let me know if you'd like to be on the invite list, whether you have a ride or not. Maybe we can work out some carpooling options.

What about lil smokies wrapped in bacon in BBQ sauce?:D

Well, I'm not quite sure how to handle the fundage part... I think a decent party could be accomplished for $150, though the level of 'goodness' depends a bit on the money. Like, for instance, if you don't mind cheap beer and wine and well liquor, we can stand by $150. If you have requests for better things, that will bring up the price.

What you'll get at this party: At least five different types of food (though I'm leaning toward six... wait, no, seven...), a variety of sodas, beer, wine, and a bottle or two of liquor, a variety of games including a Mario Kart tournament for excellent prizes, bring your change for betting some poker, and there will be a drinking game based around Operation. If it gets too crowded, we can hang out by the pool instead.

If you don't want to drive back that night, don't worry. I have space for three people to stay over. No murderers allowed. There's a couch (kind of short, though, so you'd better be short), a fold out futon, and a sleeping bag. I'll let you fight to the death over those.

Those who stay over will get coffee and croissants in the morning, just 'cause I'm nice like that.

Several people have come forward to offer donations, and I'm not sure how to divide it out or if people want other people to know that they offered, etc. I'm open to suggestions...

So far, the best night for people is looking like Saturday. Is that the case?

I would suggest that people donate what they are willing and/or able to. I personally wouldn't want to put pressure on people who aren't able to put in as much as others. Whether you want to make donation a requirement to be "on the list" is up to you.

Maybe PayPal what we can and see where we stand?

I would guess that cab fare would be high to go from Remie's to the South Point, but split between 4 or more people wouldn't be horrible. We will also have our car and will have room for 2 others. Will anyone else have a car that can take others?

Hutch mentioned a minivan. :) Hutch, are you out there? Is the minivan good for passengers?

Also, my Paypal account is located at alison@unbridledchaos.com. I was going to wait to start the collection until closer to the event, but your idea sounds better, bumlet. I just know that some of my bills are taken directly out of Paypal, and didn't want to accidentally get that disappeared and not realize it. But I'll keep a close eye.

Okay, so at this point, from everyone who wants to come, I will need to know the following:

What day works best for you (so far Saturday is looking good)
How many people you are bringing
If you have transportation
If yes to transportation, do you have any available space?
If no, be sure to say so we can find someone who does.
