Awesome Party at Remie's?

Maybe we should chart this out:

If you have a vehicle, please indicate number of passengers you can hold. If you can be a designated driver after the party, for someone else's vehicle, indicate that in the column.

I think we settled on Saturday for the party, so I won't bother putting that to vote in the chart.

I am actually seriously considering flying in, instead of driving, but I should know in plenty of time to update this.

I'm a forum grant recipient and am barely able to pay for my plane ticket. I plan to eat cliff bars from home for all meals other than the ones already paid for. So...probably no. This sounds really bad, I know. :(
 
Sorry I haven't been updating in here in a couple of days. Watson goes in for surgery tomorrow, and I'm a total mess. :)

Everything sounds like it's going swimmingly, though, and looking at the chart, I even think everyone has transportation! Woohoo!

So, now there are three remaining parts: Collecting the funding (which doesn't have to be done until... Well, a couple of supplies will be ordered online, so let's say last week of June?), Remie overcoming her depression and seriously cleaning the damn apartment instead of the half-ass thing that's been going on, and Remie figuring out how the hell to operate a steam cleaner. Thank you for that one, Watson.

We're well on the way. ;)
 
I've been reviewing the evening entertainment ( http://www.amazingmeeting.com/#entertainment ), and it looks like there is actually a very nice line-up for the "Magic, Mayhem and Mentalism!" show.

I thought it was going to be only Todd Robbins, at first. Now, I DO like Todd Robbins, but I have seen him perform many times, so missing him this once wouldn't be a big deal...

...But, NOW I see they've got others on the list:
  • Jon Armstrong (never saw him before, near as I can recall)
  • Krystyn Lambert (never saw her before, near as I can recall)
  • Jonny Zavant & Caroline Gayle (Caroline is a bit of a friend of mine, from when she lived in NY. Most of you probably remember her as a stripper from Penn's Bacon and Donut parties)

The list also includes Jamy Ian Swiss and Ethan Brown. I have seen them before, and they are very good. But, I can skip them if I have to.

Any chance we can schedule this so it doesn't conflict with the show, at all?

Umm... Well, I don't really know what to say, because I don't know how many people that would exclude.. Or how not moving it would affect donations, etc. I work on both Friday and Monday, so it can only be Friday or Saturday. Friday is the Bacon & Donut party.

Sooo... yeah. Let me know how it turns out. :)

I guess I'd rather go to this party, if I had to choose.

Depending on the timing and demand, it MIGHT be possible to have some of us drive from the party to see most of the show, then drive back to the party when it is almost over. It is a CRAZY plan, but it could give us the best of both worlds.

Or, maybe we can get a recording of the show, and suffice with that.
