Michele Bachmann won't seek reelection in 2014

I suspect our Bostonian friend is offering an arch comment regarding those who join this thread to take pleasure at the apparent political demise of so learned a public servant as the Hon. M. Bachmann.

I would think that everyone here would be happy to see that crazed, conspiracy-touting bigot out of a position in which she's able to affect public policy and spend taxpayer money. Especially Republicans, as she's embarrassed them time and time again.

Remember when she blamed FDR for causing the Great Depression by passing the "Hoot-Smalley Act"? :D

That is so incoherent. FTR: We had unprecedented economic growth following FDR and Truman.

She just makes stuff up as if no one cares or will ever check.

And who can forget Michele's fierce, almost single-minded homophobia?

"...normalization [of gayness] through desensitization. Very effective way to do this with a bunch of second graders is take a picture of 'The Lion King' for instance, and a teacher might say, 'Do you know that the music for this movie was written by a gay man?' The message is: 'I'm better at what I do, because I'm gay.'"

Well, as illustrated in this post, party affiliation often trumps all.

I think the craziest is a very recent one.

At the CPAC conference, she gave an Obama-bashing speech in which she claimed the Obamas had a very lavish lifestyle including a dog walker that gets a 6 figure salary. When the CNN reporter challenged her about this egregious lie, Bachmann answered "Benghazi". She asked the reporter how she could ask about something as inconsequential as a dog walker when 4 people were killed in Benghazi, as if she herself wasn't the one who raised the topic of Obama's alleged dog walker.

I salute her for being a hot woman in her 50s and will miss her deliciously mangled flights of fancy, which I enjoyed when she was in the GOP primary limelight.

The missteps caused many Republicans to exclaim "WTF" I'm sure. In that way she performed a vital public service.

Michele Bachmann is a member of the political class. Plus she's very religious. So show some respect!

Michele Bachmann is a ◊◊◊◊◊◊* crazy politician and religious nut that has put herself in the public eye with her actions and comments. As such, she deserves every bit of ridicule and contempt she gets.

Remember: natural disasters are gawd's way of telling us to knock it off with all the spending!

I don’t know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians. We’ve had an earthquake; we’ve had a hurricane. He said, ‘Are you going to start listening to me here?’ Listen to the American people because the American people are roaring right now. They know government is on a morbid obesity diet and we’ve got to rein in the spending.

Chutzpa, I'll give her that. It's kinda convenient when people can't ask you what you talk about.

I've got some respect right here to show her. It comes with a Wet-Nap for easy clean up.

Remember when Congresswoman .. Guano if that is her real name.. claimed that Obama was taking a trip to India that would cost the taxpayers $200 million a DAY? Based on.. something she read on the internet?

The worst thing about that video for me, was to hear Michele Bachmann say, "Four people were killed and President Obama doesn't even care. He doesn't even care!"

What kind of a statement is that? The worst thing is, I'd bet she doesn't even believe it. It's a "talking point."

She's so wrapped up in herself she is absolutely blind to what she's doing, what she's become.

Deplorable.

It's like in the book by that 'other' Minnesota politician. "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them." :D
