PZed should run for that seat. (Hey, if we can elect a washed up actor to the White House...)

I would vote for him if I lived there but as a political reality I'm afraid that he would have less than a snowball's chance in hell of winning there. It's basically a solidly Republican-leaning district to begin with.

The House Select Committee on Intelligence is about to get a bit more intelligent!

I expect that Bachmann has already sketched out mega-buck deals for ghost-written books, being a new Fox News host, speaking tours, and other such things.

Therefore, she can make far more money being out of Congress than she ever could while being in Congress. Or in other words, just follow the Palin example and cash in.

Maybe she took all the people saying the GOP needs to become a lot less stupid as a personal insult.

Let's hope the house doesn't take up that challenge.

They can't do much worse than Bachmann. Boehner would have to appoint someone like Steve King or Louie Gohmert.

Which, granted, isn't entirely out of the question. Sigh.

Maybe God told her to do that.

;)

Just wait, we'll get another video reversing the decision because of a "massive outcry" from supporters and she must cave to the will of the people.

She was my former representative when I lived in Minnesota. And she was a disgrace to her district and to her state, but by some twisted logic that totally escaped me, she was seen by a majority of her voters as being a more desirable representative than any DFL'er (which is what dem Gopher's call Demmy-crats, doncha know).

She made Jesse Ventura look reasonable in comparison.

Has it been announced that she is going to, oh, I don't know, become a political commentator for, oh, I don't know, maybe some television network or something?

Jesse's only failure was he wasn't lefty-lib enough for progressives like you.

I'm sure that sounded really smug and snide in your head, but once you posted it it lost some of its luster.

Ventura is a 9/11 twoofer, Anti-Vaccine kook, and all-around conspiracy nut. His insanity goes beyond the left-right spectrum.

I wish she had said,

"I am stepping down, because I realize that I am a clueless ignoramus getting all my information from wingnut websites and have no business serving as a representative of anyone. I have the best interests of my state in mind."
