Continuation Part 5: Discussion of the Amanda Knox/Raffaele Sollecito case

I feel like we're being catfished here

Really? No **** Shinola.

People that think Meredith was above meeting Rudi must be forgetting that she was having a fling with an Italian guy with giant holes in his ears, that grew pot, had her water his plants and was the one that introduced her to Rudi.

Here's his picture

Rudi at the time was an in shape 20 year old that was a party player type around the town.

Bruce Budowle will soon join John Douglas, Saul Kassim, Timothy Egan, Steve Moore and Bruce Fisher as paid stooges of the Seattle based and evil PR campaign. Remember you saw it here first.

It already began, almost two years ago now. Go back to July 10th, 2011 down the bunnyhole. That was shortly after the C&V Report was released and Thoughtful was translating it piece by piece, each delicious morsel more and more damning to Stefanoni. Thoughtful had some idea of how it was going to turn out, (being able to read it musta helped!) the rest seemed to be taking the position that if they didn't understand it, then it couldn't mean what it said.

At any rate as former head of the FBI DNA lab Budowle has a lot of papers out on the subject, especially for LCN DNA. Amongst a plethora of citations in that section, he is included. The Bunnies found that he'd gotten into a dispute with Theresa Carrigne, (who is also cited by C&V) who was then a rising star in the New York Office of the Medical Examiner, she is a proponent of employing LCN/LT DNA, (with far stricter standards than Stefanoni incidentally) and they figured she was a big star, this Budowle clown must be some second rate defense hack, they didn't even know who he was!

So they e-mailed Theresa Carrigne, hoping she would help them slay the evil second rate defense hack. She declined to participate. Then as only tidbits had been translated by Thoughtful they decided to leap upon what little they'd seen and denounce the Conti-Vecciotti Report as Weak, Tendentious, Cites Non-Existent Standards in an article written by Fly By Night, purportedly an academic at U-Washington, Amanda's home school, who moonlights by writing ignorant trash about subjects he knows nothing about off smidgens translated completely out of context in the aim of denying Amanda her freedom and hoping destroy her life. Read the article, it makes it sound like the ISFG recommendations are a primary reason for the determination the DNA results Stefanoni cooked up are not reliable, in reality, they're not even mentioned in the conclusions! I suppose they'd have been better off waiting for that part to be translated.

The other main point was that the bibliography (which had been translated) contains a vast and diverse number of citations from procedure manuals from all over the developed world which they find astounding and suspicious, knowing nothing of why they were included (that part hadn't been translated), jumping to the unwarranted conclusion C&V were trying to impose some sort of standard. Instead all they did is note that ILE not only failed to meet their own standards, which were cited, and are shared by law enforcement agencies all over the world.

There have been more hateful and stupid articles written about this case, but all things considered there are few that meet that 'standard' for vapidity and ignorance. Interestingly enough Theresa Caragine whom they hoped to enlist in their mission to deny Amanda and Raffaele their freedom and support the work of Stefanoni resigned under a cloud from the New York OME for skirting the professional protocols of her position.
But other than this, the DNA work by Stefanoni was sound. Massei said so. How did Massei know? He'd asked Stefanoni's boss!

Still, there's plenty of time for Machiavelli to waltz in here and declare the whole thing as a Masonic Conspiracy. Machiavelli claims to know how much Judge Hellmann, a well known Mason, was paid to boot the obvious verdict of guilt to innocent.

My bet is that Bruce Budowle is a Mason. Probably got big money from David Marriott to skew the results.

I don't know why you still try, Kaosium, to argue common sense. It's a Masonic conspiracy. Face it.

I hate to admit, Bill, but I'm afraid they're right. Logic, common sense and science have been conspiring against them since the moment the Massei Report was published. We're all going to have to 'fess up someday, it won't be a secret forever!

Randy, keep in mind the reason so little was gone over again is they obviously read the Massei Report and just like most of us realized the evidence was garbage. Honest Italian judges probably had it figured out before any of us did, remember reading through it and going WTF at some point? Them too.

The DNA 'evidence' and Curatolo was the only thing tying either Raffaele or Amanda to the scene, they reviewed that and then had new witnesses come in, Aviello, Alessi and the other three guys, waste of time if you'll recall. There was no need for the rest of the stuff if the DNA and Curatolo were realized as garbage evidence too.

Actually I started a page of notes after about the third absurd speculation or imagining in Massei...and after finishing the 400 plus pages I think I had 40 double sided pages of remarks that were all basically WTF?

I apologize for my "rant" so to speak. This new epilepsy medication is messing with my brain a bit, affects my mood at times, and i loss my cool a bit when I read that person's comment because Rudy is clearly not ugly or a Beast as the person described. I usually just let it go when I see it, and most white people are cool, even in Alabama despite stereotypes.

I do think Rudy was there, but I am certain he did not stab the victim. I think he fled out of fear for his own life when Knox stabbed the victim because I don't think he had any idea that was coming. I think that if he done this alone, he would have least came back later and flushed the toilet and wiped away his bloody prints leading straight to the door, if he left in a panic because the victim screamed out. He had to know these two were going to try to set up him to be their convenient fall guy. I think he realized immediately later Knox lured him to the apartment on the idea that Meredith was was interested in him and given he was on drugs he didn't have the best judgment to stop when she told him to stop. the next thing he knows is Knox is butchering Meredith and blood is spraying all over the room. It had to be like some kind of nightmare especially in his drugged out state.

I also would not be surprised if Knox was raping Meredith with a vibrator or a dildo, given what we know of Knox and it's my understanding the victiim was manually raped so we cannot exclude it as a possiblity. Also we cannot fail to consider that Knox kept a vibrator out in the open in the bathroom with Meredith which seems like a power, intimiddation thing in my mind. It's not funny, as Knox tried to claim in court, her statement about the vibrator being the first thing out of her mouth b/c she understood the vibrator out in the open symbolizes rape to some degree. Knox choosing to keep her vibrator out in the open is much like a man choosing to keep a dildo in the bathroom he shares with his college roommates, male or female. Most would consider that creepy as hell yet Friends don't consider the vibrator at all indicative a person capable of rape, or actively cheering a rape on.

it's my view of Rudy that he's the kind of guy who just wanted to live the good life, partying, playing sports, hooking up with women. Why would he need to go to all this effort to break into this house to rape Meredith when there are scores of women like Amanda Knox looking to get it on in this liberal college town that centers around sex and drugs? That doesn't make any sense, so it wasn't his idea to do this thing. He was lured into it by Knox....we cannot deny this.

We also understand that Knox has some pychiatric issues that are exposed via her sex addict and sex up weird behavoir post and pre butchering of the victim and drug abuse and growing up in a weird family with an OCD dad, divorce, mother remarrying a man closer in age to Knox. We also understand Raffe's love of hardcore sex talk on internet comment boards, he love of weird porn to include rape porn and animal porn, his hard drug abusine to include cocaine and herorin, his creepy picture with a meat cleaver, and the fact his mother commited suicide yet Raffe was in denial about it pretending to believe she died of a heart attack. It's much more belivable that these two nutjobs were the ones that planed and exectued this heinous murder than it is Rudy who just wanted to get high, party, and shoot some hoops.

You guys keep trying to paint Rudy as dumb (he climbed up to the high window despite the illogicality of it) but reality is he's the only smart one of the 3. That's why he took the fast track option and got the lighter sentence as a result. Now you beat up on him for benefiting him from that and also b/c you wish he had been at the trial with the other two so their lawyers could just have the black guy in court with the two white people for the picture that presents to an Itallian jury and judges who might harbor some racist sentiments and be eager to conclude the two whites, "good fellows" if you will, would not have anything to do with "the other".

There certainly may be a connection, but it isn't in her book. There are only three times she mentions "euros".

1. The amount of money it would require for her to rent the room when she first arrived in Perugia.

2. When she got the spreadsheet showing the 200 euros in her prison account.

3. When Amanda watched a newscast that reported Guede had said Meredith had accused Amanda of stealing her 300 Euros rent money from her drawer.

She also mentions she forgot to check for the rent money in her room when she went to the house with police, but doesn't use the word "euros". I found this searching her book for "drawer". I also searched for "money", and found nothing related to the money in her drawer. Whatever happened to her rent money simply isn't in the book. If there is a connection, it will have to be found elsewhere.

The answer may be as simple as the police taking the money for "evidence". It's probably stored next to the mop and Amanda's lamp.
Funny you mention the lamp ...

I guess the rent money stayed right where it was until the room was cleared out. It's funny she does not follow up on this part of the story. She just says she forgot to check whether her rent money was missing, as if that means something, but doesn't tell us what. She must have found out later it was still there in order to know it wasn't missing.

I am sure it was a test but I don't know how the cops were supposed to usefully interpret whichever result came back, like Dan suggests.

Actually I started a page of notes after about the third absurd speculation or imagining in Massei...and after finishing the 400 plus pages I think I had 40 double sided pages of remarks that were all basically WTF?

My eyes started to glaze over, in part because the translation available at that time often had the Italian in brackets next to every other word (at times) it seemed. I guess that's the way the translators do it, but it makes it damned tough to scan and I kept thinking: if I knew the Italian word I wouldn't need a translation! Why keep throwing these Italian words in my face!

The other was at the time I was expecting some seamless logic tying together all the disparate elements I'd read about the past summer on vacation, when I was introduced to the issue and entertained myself by reading the antics of PMF and later the JREF thread which got especially entertaining when the chapter 'Kevin_Lowe bitchslaps the White Rabbit back down the bunnyhole and calls him a troll' began.

So after my vacation I mostly forgot about it as I'd heard the Massei Report was going to come out and figured that would put it to rest, so I decided to read that assuming the debate would be ended by it, and it was due later that summer and I'd read that the first thing that had caught my interest, a news report of the calunnia charge (it didn't make sense they could imprison her for up to six years for just saying that without tapes) was going back to court right before the appeal.

So once I struggled through it, looking for something, anything that explained the discrepancy of these two college kids having somehow managed to murder someone in this bizzaro plot with this guy they didn't know without managing to leave any evidence or it making any sense. I started skipping through, trying to get to that part...and found myself thinking maybe I could come up with a plausible narrative employing evidence...I failed...so I tried to just do an 'involvement' scenario and found myself reading Amanda's note (in hopes of finding something to use against her in my little plot!) in totality for the first time knowing enough about the case to realize...'OMG, she's telling the truth, I know what happened to her.'

Aw geez. :(

Mignini may have been more right than he knew when he referred to Rudy as "poor poor Rudy" to tweak young Amanda in court and manipulate her into crying numerous times to appear as though she knew she was guilty and could not spin her way out of it.

You've mentioned this many times now, and I don't recall ever having heard that despite paying pretty close attention to the history and developments in this case until fairly recently. I certainly believe it possible that sadistic little slug might try that, and Amanda crying is entirely too common in my view, but do you actually have a legitimate source for that ever occurring?

I played the lets create a guilty time line in this thread. I recall we didnt have any more luck than... well anybody. PGP, prosecutors and especially Massei who has to certainly go down in some sort of legal history as the dumbest judge on earth.

No one can make a time line that fits facts and shows involvement of the innocent accused. Even the great Yummi/Mach refused to step up to the plate and take a swing. It was always later I will...now is not the time...Im thinking after 5 years he is fibbing. He has no intention of laying out his case...because he understands we could rip it to shreds with the facts.

Everybody realizes Napolini was caught in a plot to make false evidence against her ex-husband right? I wonder how that turned out for her and her co-conspirators? I seem to recall some of her pals she used in the RS , AK case as being involved in her corruption. The fat woman who kicked out the basement window was one...I think there were others.

Here is an interesting article about Italy's culture of racism:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/dec/13/italy-racism-football-mario-balotelli

This gives some credence to my theory about Knox playing to Italy's racist outlook when she accused Patrick, the African boy, of rape plus murder.

It may also buttress my little conspiracy theory that Rudy Guede was the true victim of a police witchhunt. He would at least be a much more logical target than white Knox and the Italian rich kid Raffe. Note well he was convicted real quick and jailed, while years late the two whites accused are free.

Here's the money anecdote from the article that highlights Italy's vile anti-black racism, it is actually much worse than I ever imagined, apparently because only in the past 40 years or so have blacks started to migrate to Italy:

The songs are varied, offensive and, in at least one case, openly racist. "If you jump up and down, Balotelli dies" is a favourite with supporters of arguably the most famous Italian football club, Juventus.

"A negro cannot be Italian" is the chant that explains the vitriol. The target of the abuse is 19-year-old Mario Balotelli, a footballer with Italian champions Inter Milan and a rising star of Italy's Under-21 national team.

well there's no requirement that I be as serious as you about this topic and since you are one of these foaming at the mouth partisans on a murder case that doesn't have jack to do with you, how in the hell could I be as serious as you about it? You are here to advocate for Knox, which is fine, but don't act like that has to be everybody's agenda. Most of my points are serious, that is why I am effective.

If you are not comfortable talking about sex and sex addiction, then you shouldn't be participating on an internet comment board where adults talk about adult things.

Even if I am a sexist, which clearly is not true, that is not even close to being sexual harrassment. At worse I refer to women as babe a lot but I often use that to describe women that I admire like Dr. Stef. Therefore you cannot argue that I use it as an insult.

The only woman that I've sharply ridiculed on here is our heroine Amanda Knox. Keep in mind she's guilty of murdering her roommate, a young decent woman, and you don't have any problemo with that as far as I can see. It's a bit hard to label me as a sexist when I've been advocating for a woman's killer to be found guilty, in my own unique way.

Adults talk about adult things in a way that's respectful and neutral. You do not.

Whether Amanda is guilty or not, the way you talk about her says something ugly about YOU not her.

Your obsession with Amanda's sex life is absolutely ridiculous. Your claims that someone is a sex addict because they have had 7 sexual partners by age 20 is laughable, and might've been true in the 1950's, before the sexual revolution, but now? Now many women (in the western world) have access to contraception and some glimmer of sexual freedom. I have worked closely in a pastoral capacity with young people and students since I graduated from my first degree 12 years ago, and this figure is decidedly normal. Trying to smear Amanda by making out that she is some kind of sex fiend makes it clear to everyone reading this board that your arguments are hopelessly out of touch with reality.

Oh, and you accusing Mary H, of all people, of being a 'foaming at the mouth' type made me laugh out loud.

What makes you say her?

It is so very strange how delighted they look finding the bra clasp considering how uninterested they were when they collected the evidence, videoing it on the day of discovery and then (apparently...) leaving it there!

One thing that I've never been able to figure out, what on earth are they doing with it during the December collection? You tweezer it up and put it in the little envelope, there's nothing I can think of that would cause them to treat this 'vital' evidence like that. No benefit at all, it makes them look like clowns in bunny suits.

I did feel better when I read of that judge who resigned not long ago, amongst other things citing that video as something intolerable.

You asked me a question Kaosium and I should answer it.While I by instinct agree with Charlie that the clasp evidence was planted by the police I quote directly from page 183 of Raffaele's book

"I was outraged by the way the clasp had been recovered a month and a half after the murder, and outraged too that Monica Napoeloni was in the room when the Polizia Sciintifica made their discovery. She had no place being there; the only logical explanation,I felt, was that she knew about the clasp in advance and was directing traffic to make sure it was found.

Monica had made the decision to arrest Amanda and Raffaele on the night of the interrogation against the advice of another police officer,by then she knew the mistake she had made, and it was either plant evidence or let them go,and she made the decision to plant evidence,I doubt it if she trusted anybody to carry out this task for her.

ok, report me to the moderator if you have a problem with me. You are obsessed with Knox being found innocent, even if she's guilty, and you are going to say any mean and false thing you want to about me. I get it, and I won't let you bait me into a conversation again.
That goes for your litttle clone on here as well. Both of you are unpleasant people, I won't say the word.
A woman having 7 plus sex partners by age 20 has pyschological issues, that isn't normal. I know you liberal babes disagree. That's why male pigs like Bill Clinton like you so much. Healthy adults seek long term relationships, not just sex. Sex should be a positive feature of a relationship, not an isolated end objective. I know, i'm from the 1950s, i'm the morality police, etc. Knox tried all those talking points in her book, as I pointed out in my 1 star review of her book, and intelligent people see through it. I'm not telling Knox or any liberal babe how to live her life, I'm simply saying that kind of excessive casual sex with random men isn't normal.

Knox's sexed up behavior in the days following the murder have been well documented. Again, we must concede that is not normal behavior and is in fact strong evidence of her guilt.

Knox actively encouraged the rape of Meredith Kercher and then slit her throat. You are advocating for Knox's acquital. Yet, unironically, you argue that Dr Tesla, quite possibly the most anti-Knox person on the internet, is somehow lacking understanding of rape. Again, you are supporting Amanda Knox, who cheered on a rape attempt at knife point and then slit the victim's throat.

And to complain about my Sandra Fluke comparison to Knox demonstrates you have no sense of humor because that was a brilliant comparison. Knox is the murder trial version of Sandra Fluke. that's why she's the gift that keeps on giving. :)

don't think that I don't understand that most of this is actually about my political commentary. i was purged on PMF for simply suggesting guns in schools might be a good idea after some liberals on there introduced the topic, and for challenging a liberal babe named Fiona on there for celebrating Margaret Thatcher's death. Thatcher, by the way, was a female and a good role model for women.

http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/journals/3027198.html

The study linked above, conducted in 1998 is based on more than 5,000 young people (aged ) who were 'sexually experienced' (e.g. not virgins). The data showed that 30% of young women aged 20 have had more than 6 sexual partners.

The facts speak for themselves, Dr Tesla. You are clearly misrepresenting standard sexual behaviour to fit your own prejudices about women.

I am indeed arguing for Knox's acquital because not only did she not commit any crime, but also because antiquated and fantastical attitudes exactly like yours are the only reason that she was ever prosecuted to begin with.

Would planting evidence only against Raffaele be sufficient to cover for the false arrest of the two? Or, is Amanda's arrest already sufficiently covered by the extraction of the false confession?

How could Monica physically accomplish planting this evidence on her own? She would need access to something known to have Raffaele's DNA and either take that to the crime scene or break into the crime scene earlier to bring the clasp to the source of the DNA. In the first case she has to insure that she finds the clasp before anyone else knows it's there or rely on the opportunity to handle the clasp comming up before the clasp is sealed inside the evidence bag. In the second case, she would need the key to enter the cottage and she needs to have the tampering of the seal on the front door covered up. We know the tampering of the seal was covered up but was this her work. Who controls the keys?

I'll say it again: Rudy Guede is an unattractive guy, awkward guy who did not have luck with the ladies. Meredith would not have given him the time of day.

That description of Rudy is supported by locals.
Rudy was known as a "girl botherer" by locals. He didn't take no for an answer, some said. After the female would reject him, he would continue bothering her was the description by some of the Perugia youth.

When he was caught burglarizing in Milan the lady mentions her impression of him also. Luckily she came in with her 6yrold son and a repairman.
"we all had the feeling he was a dangerous person" she said , on video.

In the statement to police, Tramontano said he and his girlfriend were awakened by noises in their apartment early on Sept. 1 or 2, 2007. When Tramontano looked down from his loft bed, he saw a young man going through his belongings. Tramontano chased the man downstairs as he tried to escape, but the front door was locked. The thief -- who Tramontano identified as Guede -- first used a chair to keep Tramontano at a distance, and then pulled out a switchblade knife. Guede, who escaped, had stolen a 5 euro bill and three credit cards.
http://abcnews.go.com/International/story?id=7946289#.UZ9bnjYo5Fo

What I see is a trend, that Rudy did his crimes alone.
He apparently burglarized and pulled knives out as mentioned above, all on his own.

He lies about someone else doing it, sure. Another trend...
even in prison to Alessi and three others, Rudy blames someone else committing his crime. Not Amanda, Not Raffaele but some thug friend.

Rudy Guede has made all the pro-guilters look like fools, especially Migninni and Maresca. When he walks out the prison with a free- college degree he makes the ennture Italy system look like a fools system. Fast Track...what an ignorant option.

Rudi went out the previous two night with Spanish women friends. He may not appeal to some or most of the people here on the forum but he seems like a perfectly okay looking guy to me. Giacomo on the other hand seems extremely unattractive.

We don't have any testimony from women, that I know of, saying good or bad about Rudi. Although many things were said about him that make look bad, he did have "nice" friends like the Skype guy and boys downstairs. There was no testimony that Meredith's Giacomo warned Amanda and Meredith about Rudi. He or one of his roommates invited Rudi back with the group to party at the cottage.

I'm no friend of Rudi's but before this crime, I doubt that he was known as the person being portrayed here today. As I recall, in Milan he was passive after the manager of the daycare caught him. He had a knife but no attempt to escape.

Final point on the subject: if these people knew he was stealing from women's purses why didn't they stop him and turn him in?

I think this is all pertinent. Human beings - regardless of race - can be attractive and unattractive, charming and not so charming. Interestingly, the notion of "looking dangerous" *can* play into racial stereotyping or profiling; but, by definition, someone who has been caught red-handed breaking into premises, knife in hand, will nine times out of ten be judged "dangerous".

But you gotta accept him as the law firm burglar, right? Otherwise you would have to believe he went to Milan sans laptop and just by coincidence met someone there who fenced him one from an office five minutes from where Rudy lived.

Why did he go to Milan anyway I wonder? It's a journey of over 450 km. What business did he have there? Surely not worth going there to sell the laptop. He could do that more economically in Perugia I bet. He was back in Perugia pretty fast because he showed up at the lawyers' office to say it wasn't him, which is also weird.

Absolutely(click). I without a doubt know he was a thief. I'm just saying that this hindsight analysis is flawed. We know that he was in the company of two Spanish women two nights in a row and that they went to a party of a friend of the women. We know that Giacomo or someone in that group invited him in the early hours after drinking in town to party at their cottage apartment. I just don't see that he was a pariah at that time. Now yes, then no.

Yes, going to the lawyers was odd. I have no idea why he went to Milan. He might have thought it safer to sell stolen goods from Perugia there. I think he had a relative there. Surely not to break-in to the daycare facility.
