One former schoolmate of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School in Massachusetts described him as “very sweet,” adding, “I never heard anyone say a bad word about him.” Another, Meron Woldemariam, 17, the manager of the school volleyball team that Mr. Tsarnaev had played for, said that he had left the team in the middle of the season to wrestle. She described him as normal — sociable, friendly and fun to talk to. He was a senior when she was a freshman.
The older brother left a record on YouTube of his favorite clips, which included Russian rap videos, as well as testimonial from a young ethnic Russian man titled “How I accepted Islam and became a Shiite,” and a clip “Seven Steps to Successful Prayer.”

But if you mean radicalized to some view or issue, than no. That's exactly what I've been saying we DON'T have any idea about. It's also what makes me lean away from the poll option "foreign" (Chechen immigrant or not) and more towards "Domestic", though without motive (besides Jodi) terrorist would be better as just sociopathic *******.

Again, for it to be "radical" don't you have to assume a motive?

A radical usually means an advocate of extreme or fundamental change--(from the word for "root").

But if you mean radicalized to some view or issue, than no. That's exactly what I've been saying we DON'T have any idea about.

So what else do you suppose "radicalized" means? Learning how to make bombs? I'm not sure what you mean by the word if you're not assuming some view or issue or political/religious cause.

Isn't that what people always say? "He was always so normal". "He was always so nice, I'm shocked". Religious extremists and terrorists in general don't have "terrorist" written on their forehead.

It's especially silly to make in-depth comments on what kind of person they are without any information by the people that stood him close.

But isn't that normally what they say about serial killers, and not so much about terrorists whose history of fighting for a cause is usually pretty well known?
