Gluten intolerant did not seem to exist when I was young. What used to happen to the people who were gluten intolerant?

Possibly what happened to a coeliac friend of mine who did the rounds of woo for ten years before finally being diagnosed.
That is to say, virtual destruction of the small intestine's cillii and with pre-cancerous growths detected. :(

Until the relation to gluten was discovered I suspect coeliacs died or recovered without really knowing what was the source of their decline.

He stated this here:

Why he even asks is unclear though. Why is he 'trying to know'? In what way is educating Kumar meaningful? Is anybody's guess ...

Thanks for clearing that up, Daylightstar.

Depending on how serious the affliction was, they died. A friend's brother was gluten intolerant. He was diagnosed as a toddler in the early 70's when he was "failing to thrive" I can only presume that he would have gone one to be a sickly youth who, in earlier times, would have succumbed to whatever diseases are going around.

If you look back at some of his older threads, you will find that "excess stomach acid" is a particular concern of his, usually in relation to type 2 diabetes.

As I understand it, both acid reflux and type 2 diabetes can result from obesity. If someone likes their chapatis fried, and eats a bunch of them, then I can see how this could lead to obesity.

Being "South Asian" - A UK shorthand for coming from the subcontinent - is also a significant risk factor for Type 2 diabetes.

An interesting link, The Don.
" Asian men with a waist size of 35 inches (90cm) or over have a higher risk, as do white or black men with a waist size of 37 inches (94cm) or over.

Reducing your body weight by about 5% and exercising regularly could reduce your risk of getting diabetes by more than 50%."

Would losing weight lead to a "lack of mass" observing ? ;)

This sort of thing has been suggested to Kumar in many of his threads about diabetes.

It is quite common feeling. But I do not concern myself from commons.

I am bothered about, how it happen? Is it reducing energy load or reducing lazyness or reducing immune load?

Eating less, exercising more, and losing weight as a result, is mass existing in well distributed people doctors since long as not only a preventative measure but as an effective treatment for type 2 diabetes, at least in the early stages.

Is it just popularity based, observation based or evidance/DPBC studies based?:)

Mojo,

What is this?

The study randomly assigned 5,145 overweight or obese people with Type 2 diabetes to either a rigorous diet and exercise regimen or to sessions in which they got general health information. The diet involved 1,200 to 1,500 calories a day for those weighing less than 250 pounds and 1,500 to 1,800 calories a day for those weighing more. The exercise program was at least 175 minutes a week of moderate exercise.

But 11 years after the study began, researchers concluded it was futile to continue — the two groups had nearly identical rates of heart attacks, strokes and cardiovascular deaths.

“That may be the choice we are highlighting,” Dr. Nathan said. “You can take more medications — and more, I should say, expensive medications — or you can chose a lifestyle intervention and use fewer drugs and come to the same cardiovascular disease risk.”

A study which didn't attempt to track whether they still had Type 2 Diabetes, instead it was looking at heart attack and stroke.

It also came up with an interesting conclusion, that although the two groups had the same rate of heart attack and stroke, the group that lost weight used less medication:

That is a complication of diabetes2.

Yes it is an intresting conclusion.:)

Which link said whether or not you are gluten intolerant?

Hint: it would need to say something like either "Kumar is gluten intolerant" or "Kumar is not gluten intolerant". And please don't try to start anther argument by Googlefight.
Oh, myyy[/takei]

Losing weight? It's reducing calorie intake in relation to your energy output.

An excuse not to lose weight?

I have, Mojo, I have.
And I must say I'm impressed by the amount of information posted up in them.
Anyone who wants to learn can do so, language barriers permitting.

In view of non-absoloutism(NOT A&F) and of Anekantvad, anyone can say in any manner, as not absolute but still can be partly correct and aurgue accordingly. But full reality lie in A&F.

That's total crap Kumar. You just have to deal with the fact that very few (if any) things are A&F in reality.
