Madagascar has been isolated for 88 million years. It has never been linked to other land via a land or ice bridge. The only place, therefore, where a hybridisation between humans and lemurs could have occurred is in Madagascar (assuming, for one insane second, that multiple lemurs could ever have impregnated multiple human females, let alone produced fertile off-spring). That would leave the mtDNA as pure African.

However, that is not what MK herself found.

It really is time she shut up, for her own good.

Go check out the link GT/CS put up, I bet you dollars to donuts she ripped this off ,without understanding it of course, and ran with it.

Kinda like the april fools cited paper and most of the rest of this carnival of crazy.
 
I'm pretty sure she did since Robin monitor's this thread and I posted that link a couple of weeks back.

I have regarded TheMelba as a fraud from the beginning who was conning a fool out of his $.

If she really is this "stoopid" how did she ever make it thru vet school? Ya can't be a dummy and make it into vet programs even.

So, which one is Robin over "there," that Cath person or that J Sasq person? I really don't know the personalities but this Cath is now attempting to defend the lemur nonsense.

You're right. If she saw this article or the associated television program she probably understood it but she also probably thought she could pawn it off on the bigfoot community, who she thinks is made up of a bunch of mindless fools.

I have some friends who are very smart yet bat crap crazy (one is in an education admin masters program and will be a principal some day, but man she's is absolutely nuts, like broke all her boyfriends stuff and left it in the street nuts)
 
I am feeling a new episode of Ancient Aliens and Bigfoot Part II coming up with Melba as the lead theorist on the episode. Let me mess my hair up and give this a whirl. Bigfoot is an alien-human hybrid genetically engineered 15,000 years ago to serve as the "Workers" for the various Pre-Columbian civilizations in the Americas. They were engineered to have massive size and strength to move the stones used in the construction of those various cultures. Once the civilizations collapsed, the "Workers" escaped into the jungles and forests of the Americas. They have an instinctive fear of humans, based upon years of mistreatment at the hands of humans during the construction of their temples, pyramids, etc. Chimera myths support the belief in the "Workers", and the cutting edge DNA work done by Ketchum is the keystone in the theory. I am sure I can find some cave drawings or statues to misinterpret to conclude that it is evidence of the "Workers". Heck, even the Nephilim in the Bible support this theory. This would explain the bizarre DNA and the human hybridization. Really, can it get any stranger than a giant Lemur ? Maybe, just maybe. This whole DNA thing is the gift that keeps giving.

I have no idea who those two people are but they sound like morons to me, obviously I haven't missed much. Robin Lynn is Melba's PR person and she has been monitoring CWB's posts here for weeks to prepare for damage control.
 
Cath (or CmMcmillan) used to stalk m on the BE forums, I thought it was a she. It turns out it's some twisted guy who uses a ladies name and avatar on that 'second life" game and decided to use it on forums too.

He/she is 47 different kinds of dumb too.

It's one thing to be ignorant to science, and another thing to argue with experts and tell them you know more than they do about EVERYTHING!!

derp doesn't express it's intelligence nearly enough.
 
Is Ketchum suggesting that humans bred with lemurs or just any prosimian? The latter did exist in NA.

Either way, its just dumb. A human breeding with a prosimian is about as plausible as a cat breeding with a dog.
 
I believe she is saying that somehow there was a giant lemur who escaped Madagascar and mated with humans 15,000 years ago.... of course there is no fossil record to back ANY of this up, not to mention the chromosomal problems and various other serious issues with her theory.

Maybe, because she is a DVM, she believes this is all possible. It's just like creating a labradoodle or a complex breed like the Argentine Dogo? I can't believe that anyone with any higher thinking ability believe that a giant Lemur and a human hybridized. Gigantopithicus would have been a stretch, but a Lemur ? This is definitely the "fool some of the people stage", but the "some" have to be very, very few. Also, as a coauthor, I would ask to have my name redacted from the paper. I would not want to gamble my professional reputation on this sideshow.

I am right there with you Jackal, but from what CWB said, not many knew they were listed as authors. That is a whole other issue in and of itself that didn't get much mention in this whole snafu.
 
I know it was mentioned in the podcast, but you have to wonder if the coauthors were not informed that their names were being used is there recourse to address any potential damage to your professional reputation? It is one thing to self inflict with this craziness, but to be an unsuspecting participant and to potentially realize damage to your credentials is a scary thought.

I was thinking this Robin person had some sock puppets who were employed to defend the paper.
