Like RandFan, I'll speculate. According to Mormonism, the goody-two-shoes among us get their own universe, right? Well, there's this one universe where everything is going swimmingly. It's Camelot writ large. GOD has written a clear, concise life manual. He visits every day in plain ordinary work clothes to chat with anyone who has questions. During Friday Happy Hour the suds flow freely. He only smites wise-ass kids who skateboard on public sidewalks. What's not to like. How, exactly, can a god be "idolatrous"? What would a god need with an idol?

So the other gods idolize him for the job he's doing. But it's also true that they are pissed at him. He's make the other members of the god squad look bad. So anger and idolatry all in one. Sound familiar?
I'd like to say one more thing on this, your religious beliefs are precious to you because your religious beliefs are a self replicating meme that protect themselves by rewiring the brain. So by your "lights," mocking and denigrating the religious beliefs of another qualifies as enlightened, mature "discussion." Furthermore, legitimate skeptics are fully enfranchised to do just that--right?
'Kolob' is a term found in ancient records translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith. Mentioned in Abraham 3.3
So, which is it: "star" or "planet", and why would either be mentioned in standard Egyptian funerary texts; texts in which no one else has ever found any mention of either?
That's weird, that post originally said "Fools mock, but they shall mourn." Now it reads as above.'Kolob' is a term found in ancient records translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith. Mentioned in Abraham 3.3
Is it not a little dishonest to completely change a post, especially after it has been responded to?
No dafydd, I mean nothing of the kind.
The Book of Abraham is Holy Scripture containing the word of the Lord to His Prophet Abraham.

I do not consider there is ANY evidence that the Book of Abraham is not the word of God, nor could there be.
The "mindless repeating" is from those who continually mock and insult Holy Scripture of which they have no knowledge nor understanding.
God killed innocent children. The flood and the first born of Egypt.
I know I'm a couple of days late, but I can't let this go by.Free agency is an integral part of Eternal Law. The suffering of the innocent is a consequence of the choices and actions of the causal perpetrators, whose actions brought the evil which incurred the wrath of God. It is the wicked who have transgressed Eternal Law NOT God. The innocent may suffer for a short space of time, but their reward will be Eternal, and in contrast to the punishment of the wicked.
What choice or action, transgressing Eternal Law, was the cause of the Tenth Plague? In your answer, please take into account that Pharaoh several times was ready to release the Hebrews, but God "hardened his heart."[/I
Biblical Mistranslation.
The Lord did not harden Pharaohs heart. Pharaoh choose to harden his own heart... and the consequence followed.

The Joseph Smith Translation of these chapters reads “Pharaoh hardened his heart.”

Help us out here, in our ignorance.
What do the hieroglyphs for "Kolob" look like?
The Joseph Smith Translation of these chapters reads “Pharaoh hardened his heart.”
Sorry I'm new here. Was Joseph Smith as skilled in ancient Hebrew or Latin as he was in hieroglyphs?
Joseph Smith was a Prophet, Seer and Revelator of the Lord Jesus Christ... and as such received Heavenly guidance, inspiration and Revelation....Was Joseph Smith as skilled in ancient Hebrew or Latin as he was in hieroglyphs?

Exodus 5–6. Moses and Aaron ask Pharaoh to free Israel, but Pharaoh refuses and places greater burdens on the people (5:1–23). The Lord promises to fulfill the covenant he made with Abraham (6:1–8).
Chapters 7–10 tell of Moses approaching Pharaoh many more times, asking him to free Israel. Despite many signs, wonders, and plagues, Pharaoh refuses.
The Joseph Smith Translation of these chapters reads “Pharaoh hardened his heart.”
