Pennsylvania is a marginal swing state. It has voted Democratic since 1992 and was predicted to go Democratic in 2012.
During the voting session, the UI portion of the program manipulates this data structure. When "Cast Vote" is finally selected, the other portion of the program takes over, reading the data structure as previously composed by the UI and rendering it in a form acceptable to the transfer medium. Error- and tamper-check data blocks are added. The place to change the voter's vote is there. The only thing that matters in terms of the vote tally is what goes on that Smart Card. If you're going to change a vote, change it as it's being prepared for storage. There's no inherent condition that requires any sort of thing to be displayed on the screen while a voter's votes are being tallied, recorded, and (allegedly) tampered with.
We have the virtual testimony of non-existent "voters" -- who are counted as having voted for Obama.

Nonsense. This stuff is all over even the mainstream press. Get a clue.
No robert....tabloids are not "mainstream press", but you know that, so perhaps it is YOU who are in need of "clues".

Non-American here. Just curious to know, was Pennsylvania actually a swing state, and if not what would be the point of fiddling the vote considering that Obama was probably going to win it anyway?
Heck you don't even need to get this fancy what with changing actual votes. Just put up a Potemkin-village UI, that shows whatever the user does, and then just disregard all that, and write whatever data you want to the final tally databases. Every race could be decided ahead of time; "80-20 for the President, 75-25 for the Senate....."
I can play this game too.
"A Pennsylvania electronic voting machine was taken out of service after being captured on video changing a vote for President Obama into one for Mitt Romney..."

So I was perusing the state results for PA and OH on politico and none of the counties Obama won in either state (a minority of counties) had 0 votes for Romney. So, is there any evidence for Robert's original claim beyond "unofficial" counts?
