Ann Coulter is not the government, nor is anyone suggesting that she be forbidden to speak.
Invoking "free speech" here shows a lack of comprehension of the First Amendment and its purpose.
 
Apologies are supposed to indicate contrition over the harm you've caused. Ms Coulter has always struck me as somebody who doesn't really feel any concern over the pain her words might cause to other people. Actually, she strikes me as somebody who doesn't really comprehend that other people have feelings to be hurt at all.

Usually telling a woman to go eat a sandwich is in response to them shaming their own bodies.

Lack-of-eating disorders are bad. I'd like to see less of those.

I voted no, just because I'm sick to death of celebrities saying horrific, hateful crap and then apologizing for it as if it makes everything all better. I'll accept their apology if it's tattooed on their face. Otherwise have the courage of your convictions - every last one of these idiots is only genuinely sorry they either got caught or will lose money for a while.

As far as the thread goes...I hope there weren't any twisted ankles or skinned knees in that mad dash up Mt. Sanctimony.

The Coulter critter holds herself up as a role model, and looks like she has an eating disorder. We are not being unkind to women when we tell her to shut up and set her scrawny ass down and eat. We would be unkind to girls looking for their own identity to suggest that the shrieking banshee were in any way desireable.
 
Another reason I'm against Coulter apologizing is that it would humanize her. It's great when such idiots insist on perpetuating their own stereotypes.

One of two things or both are true:
  1. More people have voted yes because calling Obama a Retard really is offensive to retarded people who are much better than Obama
  2. The majority of people who voted yes assumed I was saying something else thus they are members of that group who should be offended by Coulter associating them with Obama
I imagine something else is going on here. Since it was once 2 to 1 and now the margin is less tells me the people who assumed I was saying something else are now trying to get their comrades to vote to change the balance.
