I don't know what Tony "really thinks" because I'm not psychic. I only know for certain what he says. And what he says gives no indication that his statement was not intended to be interpreted as a true statement. In fact, he just explicitly claimed that this prior statement was true. If he's lying to me about what he believes, oh well. I won't lose any sleep over it. Tony is free to clarify what he believes at any time.

Now you're claiming that you really meant a prior exchange where the word "conversation" was never used, rather than the more recent one where it was. And the kicker is that it still doesn't make sense: if I was wrong about you being clueless, why would that lead you to ask questions about something you should have known? That just reinforces the perception that you didn't know what was going on. So even without time travel, your explanation is incoherent.

I'd be willing to cut you some slack if you said that conservatives thinking women deserve to be raped was just hyperbole and not intended to be taken seriously. But when you try to defend that claim as being true, then you've well and truly beclowned yourself.

First, I gotta say this. I LOVE this word. Seriously, it is a great word.

Second, I only listen to what conservatives say and see who they support. If they don't like being labeled pro-rape, they shouldn't be so willing to defend it, downplay it or throw their support behind politicians and pundits who do.


I notice you were silent on my assertion that the whining about birth control was about access and not about funding. Really, this is like saying that people who are against teaching creationism are against because they don't want to fund it and not because it is unscientific non-sense.

This is more or less what I meant. Conservatives have become soft on rape (maybe they always were). This, coupled with the fact that they think government should force women to carry rape-pregnancies to term reveals a real ugliness lurking beneath their facade.
